      Amen

That's a bit rude. You could work on your manners.

    • Dude says English is not his first language.

How many languages do you speak like a native? Did you learn any of those as an adult?

Dude says English is not his first language.

The "dude" added all that AFTER their almost incomprehensible original posting was edited by a Mod.

        • After their or HIS POST
.it was not edited by mod i did it

        • After their or HIS POST

"Their", as one could not have known if you were male or female.

.it (sic) was not edited by mod i did it

Strange that you did not thank me for pointing out that the original did not include the item, and that the post was so 'messy'.

        • Thanks

        I speek 4 languages, and I say ….. As long as it's a bargain, it's a bargain

          I speek 4 languages, and I say ….. As long as it's a bargain, it's a bargain

I agree. Unfortunately, before I reported the OP and the post was edited, the original posting was incomprehensible and did not even include exactly what was the item being offered as a bargain.

  • Reported, as it needs (heavy) editing to include what it is

An LG Electronics PA75U Slim LED Projector with WXGA Resolution WiDi and Smart TV

and to fix the composition and the lack of punctuation.

  • WXGA (1280X800) RESOLUTION

Odd 1.6:1 AR and not FHD, the TV tuner probably won't work (properly) here either. I know it's got a lot of good reviews but I'm not seeing much to like about it so far.

    • True it's not full hd but it suits my needs as some one told me thes not much difference between 1080p and 720p
.tv tuner won't work here thats true but i will be happy with playing gta5 and fifa14 on my big wall

      • +9

not much difference between 1080p and 720p

On say a 32" screen, sure, but blown up to wall size there will be quite a difference, chunk-o-rama city.

        • +2

Actually, my 1280x800 projector looks fantastic at about 85 inches, but I'm under no illusions that it looks as good as 1080p. I also only spend $400, though (new at officeworks, local warranty)…

        • I have an old XGA (1280x1024 square) projector and from 5m sitting distance with a 3m diagonal widescreen, I can see individual pixels on a white screen, and although it's clearly not as sharp as a FullHD, it's very watchable.
My next PJ will be FullHD, but I won't buy until my current one dies.

        • Is it led?
If no how much will new bulb cost

        • I don't know and don't care, since, for projectors under $1000 or so, buying a replacement bulb in 5-10 years will be more expensive AND not as good picture quality, as simply buying a new, better projector.

    • True it's not full hd but it suits my needs as some one told me thes not much difference between 1080p and 720p
.tv tuner won't work here thats true but i will be happy with playing gta5 and fifa14 on my big wall

Yea TV Tuner wont work here, as USA uses ATSC standard, where as AUS uses DVB-T.

No comment…. about the difference between 720p and 1080p. LOL There is ALOT of difference. Anything over a 32" you will quickly see the difference.

However… you probably won't have an issue with using 720p if you haven't seen or used a 1080p projector.

Like I always say, when we had dial up internet everybody was so happy about the speed… After you have used broadband then you will say "I will never go back to Dialup again".

  • LG are usually pretty sucky with worldwide voltage.
See this LG Answer for a similar model (Find 'volt' on page):
    http://answers.lg.com/answers/7676/product/MD05000741/lg-ele…

  • I think it is a great price for it! What other projector has:
    1) LED (~30K hrs bulb life) and 700 lumen
    2) HD - 720p
    3) Smart - Youtube, facebook, twitter etc
    4) Magic Remote
    5) Inbuilt WiFi, WiDi & DLNA
    6) USB with media support
    7) DLP 3D-Link
    8) Brand & Quality - LG, more trustworthy than other Chinese low cost ones
    9) 2D to 3D conversion & auto keystone correction
    10) 3W+3W sound

    Major drawbacks:
    1) Not full HD (1080p)
    2) No zoom lens
    3) Tuner won't work outside US (ATSC)

    • Finally something positive .
      Cheers for that mate

  • There are other brand-name 1280x800 projectors available both locally and on Amazon for $500, what makes this one so special?

      1. Led ( long life bulb)
      2. Smart apps
      3. Price 500$ check the price for exact model here almost double
    • .

      • Long life bulb… on a 720p projector?

Why do you think you'll want it for more than 5-10 years or so? That's how long my bulb will last under moderate usage conditions.

    • Read my post above, most of them are not 3D or not bright enough (eg: 500 lm) etc… I did extensive research and was waiting for the price to drop ;)

      • Did u got one too? I was checking prices every day on different websites luckily on newegg it was only till26/11/13 us time but amazon price matched and thus I got one .
I also did lots of research regarding low cost projector and this one had good features and positive feedback

        • Yup, ordered one today :) Hope it doesn't lower further ;)

        • I doubt it as last time it was on sale for 649$
Any good speakers or hometheater you like to recommend

        • I am planning to buy Yamaha RX-V375 or Yamaha RX-V475 Receiver. There are some Yamaha packages with these amps as well. eg: Yamaha YHT-499AU or YHT-699AU

        • I got mine projector today so far very impressed.
Rio has rx v475 on special for 449$ cheapest i have found in oz
I m making my mind to buy samsung soundbar hw751

  • Good price for this unit… 720p is fine up to ~100inch at 3.5+ meters away. Yes FullHD is better but as this is LED you can leave it on all day without thinking… Dam! Im up for another couple of hundred bucks for a new globe every couple of months.

    • Couple of months?
My first globe lasted 4 years and my second (a bargain $55 on eBay) is approaching 2 years.
It's been our primary choice for entertainment, only bought a TV 18 months ago.

LED sounds great an all, but brightness is still an issue, you'll need a blackout room to satisfactorily view during the day.

For an extra $130 ($744 delivered) i would consider a refurb benq 1070

    http://benqshop.com.au/w1070-refurbished.html

  • Anyone know what the maximum distance would be that you could place thsi from the wall you are projecting onto?

  • Try the calculator on projectorcentral.com

Hmm, I don't think 700 lumens is enough, unless you have it close to the screen, or in a very dark room… at night…
At that price, I would look for something like this instead, cheapest ($598) WXGA at Officeworks is 2700 lumens.
I have an older NEC that runs at 3000 lumens, not bright enough in my house to use during the day, can't block enough light out. Yet ;-)

    • Depends on the throw distance (and therefore screen size), but I agree. this is going to be a night projector only unless you have a dedicated room with no windows.

Pretty sure your NEC isn't throwing out 3000 lumens if you can't see it in daytime. My Epson only puts out 2000 (on full brightness, with a new bulb - old bulbs decline in light output… very noticeable when you change the bulb) and I run it in Eco mode, ~1800 lumens (the brightness difference is marginal and well worth the extra bulb life) in a room with a skylight and floor to ceiling windows with holland blinds and blackout curtains and have no trouble at all in daylight.
I can easily navigate menus etc in the daytime with curtains/blinds open and it's certainly watchable with them closed.
