Very good price for a HDD with good reviews.

  • Now THAT'S cheap!

I so don't need anymore HDDs but it's hard to resist! :)

    • Lucky for me my local has it for $129 so I can resist. But great for those not living near a good shop.

      • Yeah, bought from 9289 a couple of times with their earlier specials. Particularly appreciated that their pricing structure allows people living outside metropolitan centres to get in on the bargains.

That's the eco model. So this deal from 9289 is much better.

      • Wrong …
Netplus stocks the UI model which operates at 5400rpm
This is the UJ model, which operates at 7200rpm (and is a better HDD)

        • You're dead right, because of the price I assumed it'd be the cheaper model.

Great bargain in that case. Not sure why someone gave you a negative vote, but I'll even it up for ya.

        • Netplus stocks the UJ model too for $50 more. However, their price matching policy is quite good. Just a heads up for those who prefer buying stuff from shops.

  • 9289 has good deals:)

Now thats a good deal! Blows away those stinky deals we see from ShoppingSquare :)

Pitty I have no need for this but it is an awesome deal. For people not ready to adopt SSD technology or want a VeliciRaptor, this would make a great OS drive - They are quite fast.

  • whats the diff between this hd then the standard 1td western digital drive u can get from msy? other than the price which is $144, are the drives pretty much the same?

    • The WD 1TB drive for $144 is a Green Power model. Which means lower power usage, but also lower speed. While the WD GP series is faster than the Samsung low power models, this deal is for the regular model (see my mistake above).

So long story short - it's faster and uses ~2W more power.

9289 have FREE SHIPPING on every item this week.
I think I may buy some stuff, they're really cheap!

    • free shipping all week? thanks for the heads up!

  • just ordered one. note that there is a credit card surcharge of $3.75

    • You could use bank transfer to avoid this fee.

      • I've paid a credit card surcharge to on a website I haven't ordered from before.

While 9289 seem reliable, if you aren't sure, I'd rather pay a few dollars as 'insurance' so I'm able to do a chargeback if anything goes wrong of something of this value. With a bank transfer, the money's gone as soon as you click that button.

  • Mmmmmmmmm 1TB
Now none of you tell my wife OK.
I will surprise her with it tomorrow. I think she will like it for mothers day !
Thanks 9289 and Ozbargain. Anyone know where to get a radar detector :-)

    • Is that for the wife too? ;)

    • Perhaps you should be looking for a coffin?

  • Brilliant Bargain.

    Thanks 9289.

  • any1 for officeworks price beat?? HAHA…

    • +1

Fairly certain Officeworks don't sell OEM internal HDDs.

  • its so good, that i ordered it before i saw it/checked for it on ozbargain. for me, that's rare thesedays

  • Deal expired? Link says product not found. Damn, I only just got home!

    • and you're already on ozbargain?

      dedication… :)

      • It's.. so addictive. My retail therapy every night =]

  • Quick question…

Do any reasonably priced 1TB HDs come in 10,000rpm?

    • No consumer level SATA ones.

  • whats reasonable? hahha but 9289 is really good, good service and fast deliverys!

  • sold out?

    • It looks that way. :-(

    • With previous deals at 9289 it did show as 'sold out' after a day or so and then was working again on the Monday morning. Wouldn't give up just yet :-)

      • +1

Looks like they are back in stock

        • Yup, just checked as well, back in stock. In true 9289 style they must have managed to get another palette ;-)

          • +1

@gabbyh: … and back to Sold Out. :-(

  • they are pretty bad drives anyway - the ones i have experience disk errors.

  • has anyone paid, got the payment confirmation and been stuck on 'STEP 2" of the website. Do I need to email them to get them to confirm delivery?

    • Same to me. I paid on Tuesday afternoon. No update since then.

  • Got my drive today, have not tried yet, paid via bank transfer in weekend.

  • Mines with Fatway couriers!
Unfortunately they normally don't update the tracking details until after I receive the item.
Kind of useless … anyway fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow or Friday.

  • Mine not received yet :(

  • Received mine today … haven't put it in the PC yet
But the packaging was great, HDD was well protected (Strong cardboard box and bubble wrap).

  • Dont buy from these idiots.
They're products dont match the images.

I ordered a Samsung 22X SATA DVD burner and when i recieved it, the whole faceplate was black with just "SuperFlex" icon on it
I called up and said, why is it not labelled SAMSUNG on the front? I know even OEM versions you get the brand name
They said the images on the site are used for illustration purposes only…and if i want to return it i will pay a minimum $10 restocking fee and shipping costs.
The DVDRW looks like a clone or something. Rubbish.
