  • I'm currently in the UK. It requires V.me registration. However, the website always jumps to UK version so I cannot buy this product. Anyone has the direct V.me registration link for Australia?

    • yes at your particular mall there are only those. At mine theres Big W and Woolies and Eb games and reject and much more.

    • +3

Its varies per centre. So you can change the centre and it will show which stores participate in that centre

    • +1

Looks like almost all stores in Shellharbour accept it.

      • +1

Yes. My bad. Great for us.

      • Good stuff…going there next week

    • Pattison's Patisseries are usually good. Haven't been to Cammeray though.

these are one of the least popular gift cards. Last year I tried using them on participating store in the Stockland shopping centres. Most of them didn't feel like accepting them and some complained "wouldn't participate again next year". Good value but think twice before you buy them.

    • yeah I made sure to call up my participating stores to confirm they are accepting them and I could use them to purchase their store brand giftcards.
Eb actually has a nice GC policy the funds never expire can be used Australia wide and even in NZ too!
Big w's expires after a year sadly.

It's thursday so you could still try calling up your particular stores and asking if they'll accept and turn them into their giftcards.

If you have an Auspost in your centre you could hopefully use this to buy other giftcards.
Unfortunately for me all I have is a nando's. Anybody want to buy some hotsauce? ;P

ha ha paypal here comes the competition!

    • paypal here comes the competition!

Got it in one! That's what this is all about.

    • I was hoping google would get it's shit together faster on the whole payment thing.

  • Got one, Thanks

Sign up to v.me. Add AMEX card Receive message "merchant doesnt accept this payment type"

So much for the 'v.me is the bees knees promotion'…

    • +2

Got the same message, but I reckon it's not v.me's fault.

      • Yeah I thought this service would've been like paypal - where it's a third party in between service where the seller doesn't know what method of payment you're using, only that you're paying them! I guess not. That's a bummer.

  • Is Merryland's a Stock-Land mall still?

  • Got one for me and one for my wife :)

    • Using a single Scoopon account or two different ones?

      • You can have 1 for each email address.. I have a few, so far so good.

      • Yeah, two different accounts

  • Got one. Harris Farm Market in my nearest Stockland accepts this so half-price groceries here I come.

V.me form was a bit flaky. Had to use Firefox before the Sign In button became active.

  • This sounds really stupid… but how do you change the center to find out who are the participating retailers? Tried a few times and the center's page keep popping up instead of the list!

Edit: Just figured it out :p

    • I got some centre unknown to me (tooronga) when I went to that page, but I managed to find the info for my centre by changing the name inside the URL in the location bar. I don't know if there is a proper link to each centre.

Edit: Ok this seems to work. Click on Change Centre, then look for the one you want, click on View Centre, and then it should change at the top. Then you can go to Gift Cards > Participating Retailers.

  • I checked stockland website for my local stockland shopping centre and found bigw and woolies are participating retailers! Serious?! I highly doubt it.
Btw, why marked expired when the deal is still on?

    • Sorry, my fault. I got an error that there were none left. I just tried again from scratch and it worked.

  • The T&C aren't working on the stockland gift card page for me.
Does anyone know if I can use one of these cards to buy another gift card? It seems unlikely but if you can, then making this a 50% itunes gift card deal seems pretty good to me.
Thinking of using it at coles…

I've got confirmation from both big w and eb games that you can do this. unfortunately you won't be able to use those gift cards to purchase pre paid visa cards. Might be able to do this at aus post though. It s not do much that the gift cards won't purchase pre paid you might just need to purchase the reloadable one but that costs extra. Big w gift cards won't let you purchase woolie pre paid master cards.

  • can i use multiple vouchers in a single transaction? was thinking of buying an iPhone.

    • you'll need to ask the store in particular your looking at.
I know with purchasing their particular store brand giftcards (eb games and Big W) it doesn't seem to be an issue. Ethier that or they will use one stockland card at a time to reload the giftcard (their brand).

    • LOL. an iPhone, that will be $20 x 40 gift cards?
Any car dealers or home builders accept Stockland gift cards?

  • +1

This Vme websites a bit disappointing isn't it? I've its only showing the first transaction I've made with them from yesterday and it took them all night to bring that one up. The moneys been removed from my bank account though. The transaction history isn't instant or fast updating at all. Hope they fix this or it'll be a pain to deal with.
oh also don't sign up with a + in your email or you'll have issues and need to close your account and open another.
The password reset form doesn't like + but the sign up field has no issue accepting them.

  • Must I register with Vme?
It's basically a glorified gift card, nothing more. I don't want to activate any "additional benefits" or "special features".

    • yep V.me required the whole purpose of all these bargains scoopons doing is to get users on v.me once there are some users on vme, Vme can start selling itself to stores saying look at how many customers use us you should use us as a payment method.

You'll want to make one (a vme) becuase look at all these deals they'll be running this month.

      • How is the Vme online registration tied to the gift card they mail out?
My understanding is that anyone in possession of it can use it like cash. I don't think merchants can identify you from the card.

Nevertheless, I think I will pass on this deal. I really don't want having my CC/banking details linked to this card because it is a security issue.

        • +1

Vme is only required to make the purchase of the Giftcard you use it as a paypal equivalent.
after you get the giftcard it acts as normal.
There are no actual debit or credit cards that will be mailed to you. Vme is pretty much a dumb paypal equivalent with no way for you to send money to other users only to merchants for the time being.

        • +1

As scargdearimasu says Vme is just a payment mechanism linked to a card or cards, similar to Paypal. There is no physical card associated with it. Since it's run by Visa, if their security is lax, then abandon all hope.

The Stockland card has nothing to do with Vme, Vme is just the way it was bought. There's no linkage between the Stockland card and any account or credit/debit card you have. It's like cash. You lose it, you cry.

        • OK, I understand now. Thanks for the clear explanation. Vme looks like it will fail anyway. Plus it is too complicated for most joe blows to figure out exactly what it is and how/why to use it.

        • Well it had some rough edges when presented on Scoopon's page, but it's no worse than Paypal or CC payment gateways. Merchant provides a link to Vme, you login to Vme to pay, and you don't have to worry about the merchant handling your CC number. I suppose it all depends on how Vme promotes it.

    • I think you have to as that's the specified payment method. But you can opt out of the marketing spam.

  • Bugger. Coles and 1stchoice not participating at mine.

Might just get one for the butcher.

    • Dan Murphy's is listed at my local Stockland!

  • oh over 1066 sold I thought they'd cap at 1k.

  • So these can be used at places coles and woollies? But in conditions doesn't show coles or woollies?!! Hmm $1000 coles myer card for $500 is a bargain.

    • +2

50 accounts! I wonder if that will cause all your orders being cancelled.

      • Wonder how many accounts you could have before they'd notice.

  • wow over 1618 sold wonder where it will stop maybe 2,000? I wonder who foots the bill on these V.me or scoopon or maybe Stockland malls try to get more customers?

    • +1

Even its capped at 2,000, it's just $20k spending on promotion, not a big budget for either V.me or Stockland.

      • I suppose when you put it like that for big business spending it wouldn't be to expensive. Seems like a lot for frugal me though haha.

  • When I go through Scoopon checkout to place order to pay with Vme it just hangs the page. What a waste of time.

  • Will they be sending out a physical card? or just print and use?

    • You will get a Stockland card in the mail.

  • can anyone confirm that u can have a few visa cards linked to a single vme account and buy the deal with different scoopon email accounts?

  • expired? its still active - 2067 sold - pretty low number actually…

    • Yeah seems they "got more".
Wonder why they're changing their stock numbers.

  • Got one of my cards in the mail today

  • Got mine today. Along with an interesting letter. It basically says there were too many orders, but they sent me 5 as a courtesy. busted :s

    • Got 5 but busted huh? how many did you try for?

  • Received gift card today.

  • So I was able to get a hold of two of the Stock land GC's (family got me one as a gift)

So I go to use it at EB Games to buy a EB games gift card since this eb didn't have the two used titles I was looking for. So I get the employee to ring me up and attempt to put the money from both Stock land GC's on a single EB games gift card. The first card goes on fine and unfortunately either the mag strip on the second card was corrupt or more likely de-magnitized in the postal service.

So when he went to use the second one and it wouldn't read and there's no option to cancel out of the "add a second GC" option on the POS and they have a character limit which the GC is over so he couldn't type it manually so he had to void (cancel) the sale. When we went to try again with just one card the one card that did work had no funds on it even though he canceled the sale.

At this point we went to the information desk and the lady there couldn't read the second card and the first card she could read but it said it was out of funds. She had to end up calling some one higher up asking what to do and gave the EB Games employee some special numbers and a phone number to call. We walk back to eb games he calls the number (some Stock land GC person) and was told he'd need to deal with the EB Games GC accountant or something like that.

So he had to make a few more calls to get to the right person and eventually found out the money wasn't in limbo. Even though he voided the sale EB had received the money. He made up a $20 GC to cash and had to "write it off". The other one that didn't read I took to Big W and they also couldn't read it so I went back to the lady she couldn't read it either but checking the Number on it showed it had funds on it.

She ended up making two calls after saying she wasn't sure what she could do (since "her Mall" didn't issue it and eventually swapped my card for one she had in her desk that was rubber banded to about 50 others all premade with writing on the back and funds already on them. Took that back to eb games and used my $20 EB GC and the new $20 GC to make a $40 GC. This took at least an 1hr to 1hr and a half to get done.

TLDR. Go to the Information counter and get them to check to see if the cards will read before you use more then one to buy a GC. Also Never void a third party GC Sale.

  • Still waiting for my refund for my wife's card….

  • Received mine today
