Is there a voucher or link??

  • +6

considering we're more than half through the entertainment book year (they started selling around May), this should be at least (if not more) than 50% off…

In any case, you can still definately make your moneys worth.

    • +7

So, by your logic you should be negging all AMEX card deals for AMEX card holder, RACV, RACQ, etc deals for RACV, RACQ, etc members, etc etc

      • His logic is right. If you are Entertainment book member you already have a book. So, it's highly unlikely that you need another one. So really this offer should be open to anyone.

        • Not correct. You buy a book for a particular area. If you're going on a holiday, for instance, you might want one for the area you are visiting.

We recently went to Tasmania for a fortnight, for instance, and the saving on a Gordon River cruise alone more than covered the cost of the book.

  • The main use I see for this is for those
who use Coles Shopping Vouchers that are limited to
    $2000/book.

Buy the cheapest book available and get another $2000 worth of
vouchers. My sister has run through 3 books already.

    Or do what I do…
Buy the WISH (ie Woolies/DanMurphies etc) cards,
    which are unlimited per book.

      care to expand?

      • Expand on what?

(I'll guess) UPDATE it is $4000/book
        The Entertainment Book allows…
        (amongst other things)
you to buy $4000 worth of
Coles Cards for 5% off, saving you $200.

So, if you can pick up an extra book for only $45
and need $4000 worth of Coles Cards…
You are getting a $155 saving.

Plus the usual uses of the Entertainment Book.

Of course much cheaper to shop at Aldi/CostCo and avoid
        Coles/Woolies in the first place…
But if you must shop there… Why not save 5%.

        • +4

I find Aldi far more expensive. The groceries are priced really well but I always end up walking out with like $70 worth of stuff I didn't intend on buying because 'oh that's cheap'/'haven't seen these in ages'/'holy shit I could own my own kayak'.

        • Shop there more regularly and you'll get over it.

          But… I'm like that for CostCo. :)
          4 different bulk bags of chocolate I haven't tried… I need them.

        • but then you pay $2000 or $4000 upfront…

        • Oh I see, thought it was a little more exciting than that.

  • Can I use Coles Vouchers which got 5% off to buy EB games/David Johns gift card?

    • +2

It states on the gift cards that you can't use them to buy other gift cards. However go to self serve and don't pull out the gift card when the store assistant goes to authorise it and the computers don't stop you. I may have done it a few times for Coles myer cards with Coles Express on them 5% off petrol for very little effort.

  • how do I get the Greater Melbourne book on their website for $50 as mentioned above rather than the $65 it says on their site?

    • exactly! 65 is like limited quantity

    • Apparently you have to be a member or existing member?

      • well i am

  • 50% deals from entainment book isn't the greatest these days with all vouchers company already doing better job

  • Here's the direct link for those who aren't members:

  • I am just wondering if someone who has an Entertainment Book is going to buy another Entertainment Book for me, it won't work I assume as the second Entertainment Book will be under his name.
    correct ?

    • +1

      It works fine…
As long as you don't want the same book as them.
They don't allow you to order more of the one you order from.

It is how we get our family books each year.
I buy one North Sydney full price…
Then get 2 Newcastle ones for the family using my book.
They then buy Canberra and Sydney ones etc etc with their books.

      • But if you buy a Entertainment Book for your relative (or friend) via your membership, that book will be under your name, isn't it ?

  • +1

    No it won't.

    • Thank you. I've got a friend who is a holder of an Adelaide Entertainment Book, so once it gets closer to 1 June 2014, I'll ask her to get one for me.

PS hold on, I just realised that it is not gonna work for me as both of us will need an Adelaide Entertainment Book. Oh well, life is full of surprises.
