Canon 1DC w/ PIXMA Pro10, Miller Air Tripod, 128GB CF Card for $10795 (RRP for Body Only $11500)

470

Saw this deal at Sunstudios on a 1DC event night. Does not say when deal ends.

Deal includes:
Canon 1DC - $11500 (Ted's)
Miller Air Tripod - $1100 (Videopro)
Pixma Pro10 - $799 (Georges)
128GB Extreme Pro CF - $899 (Georges)

Total: $14298
Deal Total: $10795

Great camera if you're a professional looking for a DSLR which is approved for broadcast by the EBU. The best thing about this camera is the ability to shoot like a Canon 1Dx, but also with the ability for Raw video.

here's an example of the quality of the 1DC: http://vimeo.com/72795793

I'd get one but I shoot stills a lot more than videos, I think I'll stick to my Canon 1Dx for a little longer.

    • Deal is on the front page .. can we neg you now?

  • wish i have that $ to spend

  • WOW beast of a camera, lol I wouldn't even know how to use it properly!

    • +2

You half press the shutter for focus then press down the rest of the way to take the picture. Nothing to it really.

      • +4

It's a 4k movie camera in a DSLR form factor (C = cinema, presumably). If you just wanted to take photos you'd get the 1D X for much less money.

  • WOW…just Wow!

    • You can say that again!

    Amazing deal!
like the OP, I have no need for this camera as I only shoot stills, and also I shoot Nikon.
There's something about white lenses that just makes me feel dirty. :P

  • i bought a digial camera for 59 bucks once. i thought that was a good camera.

    • +3

Wait till you see the Phase One…!

  • hi thr, thx for posting.
I would like to buy one but where the store is? do they sell it online?
i am living in perth right now.

    • i included the website to sunstudios, you should contact them directly for more details. i only took a pic of this because i thought my mate (who is a pro videographer) would be interested. thought the rest of the community would like to know about it too.

Yep and how many people do you think would buy this.. coming from OzBargain??!

    • +8

      Is it a bargain?
      Yes.
So it belongs on OzBargain. :)

        • +14

Prices on shopbot are $700+ more expensive and don't include any of the extras. Please post link to cheaper price.

Edit: Spent 2 minutes on Google, but couldn't find a cheaper price there either.

    • +3

it doesn't matter how many people would buy this, but any professional videographer trying to save a buck looking through ozbargain would definitely benefit from this deal.

    • They retail it for $10K, but it still didn't stop me offering $300.

  • +1

i would love to buy. i recon itis pretty nice deal for the things we get.
but if u are not a pro user, dont waste your money.

    • i did think about getting it and replacing one of my 1dx, but i doubt i'll ever shoot enough video to break even. ahaha

No value for money IMO. Just stick with the 60d or d5200d. The d7100 if u absolutely must spend se cash …….

    • value for money for professionals who need a "light" camera that can shoot broadcast approved 4k video, which a 60d, d5200, or a d7200 cannot do.

      • -1

        What is a D7200?

    It's only US$ 6,799 at B&H website:

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/827036-REG/Canon_5253B…

Works out to be around AU$ 7,456 but I think the listed price is before tax. IMO, you have two options:
    * Find a cheap flight to SF or NY and either drive or take a bus to one of these states who don't impose any sales tax - Delaware, New Hampshire (they're close to NY) or Oregon and Montana (close to SF). Btw, you can have a nice holiday as well while you're there.

    • Buy it via Freight Forwarding company like Hop Shop and Go or SHipito and get it shipped here. You will need to pay 10% GST so = AU$ 7,456 + AU$ 746 = $ 8,202 + freight cost and insurance.

In addition, I found a few discount codes for B&H so they could potentially shave off a couple hundred bucks from RRP.

Edit: Yup, I managed to get the price down to US$ 6,599 after applying coupon from Retailmenot:

      you're talking about the 1Dx,

      the deal is the 1DC.

      http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/855962-REG/Canon_EOS_1…

    • 'New Hampshire (they're close to NY)'

Relatively speaking I guess you're right but it's approx a 10 (ten) hour drive from NYC. (Or an hour's flight)I also have my doubts that New Hampshire would have any camera shops selling that kind of professional grade equipment.

None of the US states charge sales tax on mail order to overseas countries or (in most cases) to freight forwarders so I guess the real issues is customs duty or GST. I forget is it over 1K or over 10K that GST kicks in on overseas purchases?

      • $1k threshold. Aside from the GST when they collect it you'll also be slugged another $70 or so in admin/processing fees. And there are sometimes also additional fees depending on whatever you're importing.

        On a $10k camera it's $1k GST.

  • Really love it!!!!!! But before that i need money….

  • Wow…

That's crazy- storage needs to catch up to 4K video! Even with 2 memory card slots- I don't think it would be enough.

"64GB CF card can record approximately 16 minutes of 4K content"
