Got one of this from Masters. Car roof racks can be very expensive, over $200, but this is a cheap alternative. Don't expect high quality but does the job.

straps by the looks
Secure by straps to a metal clip against the door edge. Have to ensure its pulled very tight. Would use it for light loads only, like transporting a piece of long timber over a short distance.
I put 2 x packed sets of these roof racks on the same roof racks mounted on my car and took a corner and lost the full load including the roof racks mounted on my car…. I didn't bother turning around to picking them up thinking that the outcome was a sign.
Will this work on my convertible?
How does it attach to the vehicle?
