  • looks like no delivery before xmas :(

  • Anything posted now would never make it before Christmas….

By express it would, but for some reason when checking out with this product there is no option to choose it.

I don't think they actually have this in stock yet. Probably arriving some time next week which is why estimated delivery is marked as 30/12.

As a Ozbargain Tightass I wouldnt pay for Express post :p

  • MVA screen for those interested.

  • I've got one of these (and the 810). They are awesome. The only major setback is the charger.
The USB combo port is a bizarre 12? pin port that functions as a USB host as well as a proprietary charging port.
You're looking at spending ~$50 to replace the charger (if you broke it or the kids broke it or the cat chewed on it).

Bought one too and I also did not need it as I still have my asus transformer with docking keyboard. Damn. Its the Ozbargainer curse !!!!!

  • Hmmm, buy this or wait for another 810 deal to pop up?
    Which has the better screen?

  • Anyone can recommend a good and cheap leather case for the A510 ? Will the case for the Iconia A500 and A501 fit perfectly to this including access to the ports ?

i just cancelled my order, so there should be another one if lucky

  • Back in stock - I just bought one!

    • +1

must of been my cancelled one, its out of stock again. well done!

      • Must have been yours! Bloody legend mate, thanks heaps for that!

  • Hmmm. I was planning to buy the Hisense Sero 7 originally for $159 - is this likely to be better?
Hope I made the right choice!

  • My order literally just arrived at work. Perfect timing as the three I bought are all Christmas presents and today's our last day in the office… but that's where the good news ends :( Opened the postal box and all three had really grubby boxes BUT I'm OK with that as that's what the website advertised them as being. Opened each of them up to find the tablets in bubblewrap and a powersupply with rubber band around the cable… and nothing else at all! No original internal packaging, no books, manuals or pieces of paper… nothing but the Tablet and Power Supply and although I was a bit peaved I was even OK with that TBH as they were so well priced IMO.

Big problem was when I unwrapped them all and found none of them had the original screen protector film and they all had scratches all over their backs, grubby marks (that could've and should've been cleaned off beforehand) and one even had a pretty serious scratch on the glass too! Not good enough EB, not good enough at all. They all seem to work OK so I'd personally pay about $75-$100 for these but definitely not $178.

The impressive yet still disappointing conclusion to this is when I called them to complain they were absolutely fantastic. I was ready for a fight but the customer service guy just told me to take them back to a store for a full refund and he even refunded my shipping then & there too! Very good service but I'm now left with a dilemma as I now have to find decent replacements to give as Christmas presents and I only have a few days to do it! Eeek.

    • My order arrived today too. After previously trying to buy back in September (www.ozbargain.com.au/node/116470) and then having my order cancelled. After many calls, they gave me a $50 gift card (which unfortunately can't be used online). When this came back in stock I ordered again, and as with SteveAndBelle mine with just the dusty charger with rubber band and bubble wrapped tablet with scratches over the back. Screen looks untouched though.

I actually saw this on the 13th and ordered then, but was hesitant to post after my last order was cancelled.
Looking at a cached version there is no mention of shop worn packaging.

      I guess I shouldn't complain as I technically got $50 off.

  • Just got mine delivered 10 minutes ago. The box it came in has "preowned refurbished by ebgames" printed on it.

  • If anyone is after one of these let me know, I'm selling mine, minimal use and leather case make an offer, pick up northern suburbs Melbourne. selling only as I received a nexus 7 as an early Christmas gift

  • Apologies for posting this. When a product is listed as new, I would expect it to be factory sealed etc and NOT have substandard packaging, visible signs of use, no manuals and a Samsung (!) power point.

As others have mentioned, EB will refund the cost of the item in-store and you can call customer service and they will give you back the postage costs.

    • Not your fault, I expected it to be factory sealed and unused based on EB Games description of "new".

  • A heads up for those who received a refurbished tablet instead of new like me. I called before Christmas and asked for a supervisor to call me back, which never happened. I called again today, and the customer service guy noted that no call back was made, and immediately talked with his supervisor. I was expecting a long drawn out conversation, but he came back and said there had been an error on the site and offered an $86 odd refund (bringing the effective price of the tablet to $100) which I accepted.

However they can't perform a partial refund from their end, so they need to organise with a local retail store, and I'll need to go in in person to get the money back. He said EB will call me in a few days when it's all ready to go.

I also queried whether the warranty would be 12 months, or 3 months that refurbished products. he checked with his supervisor and said that it will be a 12 month warranty.

  • Yay mine finally arrived! Seems pretty good so far, especially after updates applied.
