  would this play on PAL systems too? ie work on an aussie TV?

    yeah, the HDMI cable output should be fine on any digital TV. Plays fine on my LG 50"

    I don't know of this model, but most of these Panasonic Camcorders are still made in Japan.

  thanks dude, this model is made in malaysia. i just bought one. The cheapest i could find in aus was $500.

  The lust for camcorders has waned a bit judging by the responses to this deal.

  I thought there'd be more interest, to be honest. I guess the current wave of cameras (and phones) doing video (and many with larger sensors) has satsified the lusts of Average Joe sufficiently enough.
