  The WD10EACS is not 7200rpm it is in fact 5400rpm. WD marketed this one as 'intellipower' and there was discussion on the web as to whether it had a dynamic RPM or what the case was. In the end someone did some acoustic checks and found it to be 5400rpm.
  
  If you are going to put the drive into an external case it really does not matter whether 5400 or 7200, plenty fast enough in any case and both will saturate a USB2 link no worries. If using it as a system drive it would probably be better to get the WD10EADS which is 7200rpm and 32mb cache. You can get the WD10EADS last time I looked from 9289.com.au for $144 including free shipping.
