Dyson DC59 Vacuum $449 & DC44 Animal $329 (after $100 off Trade in with Your Old Vac) @ HN

570

Went into Harvey Norman looking at Dyson Vacs and was surprised to see they have a $100.00 discount if you trade in your old vac.

Asked the sales girl and she said don't worry about bringing in my old vac and she will give me a $100.00 off anyway as what can they do with my old vac anyway.

Got a great deal!

  • what about dc59 animal? any deals on them at HN?

    • +2

Yes, they had same deal, I just took photo of the vac I bought however it was for the entire Dyson range!

    • Man I was away for a day from the site and feel shit to be not in the circle as to what's going on

    • +1

      Much better and cleaner.

It better be cleaner, it is a deal for a vacuum after all..

    • -3

Maybe you could do with some English lessons, theearth.

    • -3

So much for you quitting ozbargain theearth

      • +1

        Well
I am back here just to provide more quality deals to my kindhearted fellow ozbargainers and clean up some bad apples here because i do care about this site.

Bad apples here won't even dare to care about bad publicity for Ozbargain (caused from illegal fuel vouchers printed out just to save a few cents.)

BTW I felt nothing for negs on my comment or any personal attack and abuse.

In fact very nice feeling abut telling the fact.

    • +2

Pretty much agree with the earth here. There is very little difference from the fuel discount rorting and using your company car fuel card for your personal car.

  • totally agree- got burned with that fuel voucher- not happy Jan!

    • So that means the voucher no longer works? I saw the original post, but have not seen the outcome after it was removed.

And don't forget your bonus tool kit (value $99) before 24/12/13 on dc59

    • U would not know how hard it is to find that how to claim form!!

  • +1

Don't often upvote a HN deal but $329 is awesome for an Animal, they're really good. Mines been going strong after daily use for a bit over a year.

    • +2

you got to vac every day? Geez, i'd be doing something about that lol

  • For those who interests, I bought a DC44 animal earlier this year.

Tried a DC59, it does suck A LOT better than the DC44. I can actually feel the motorised head is trying to stick on the floor. So I bought a DC58(the handheld version without the long stick and motorised head) and use the stick and motorised head came with DC44.

Now I am happier for the price of $269 (Asked store A to price match store B at $319, then get $50 statement credit from credit card company X). The deals are now expired.

For this trade-in deal, honestly who wants a 2nd hand vacuum cleaner? What are they going to do with them?

Anonymous, you can be specific you know. Holding secrets on OzBargain is bad karma.

    • +1

True ozbargainers would have known or at least search for dyson deals in the past 2 weeks

      A = David jones
      B = Myers
      X = Amex

      • +1

X I see what you mean but if B was the issue, refer to C and than you'd get the A.

    • What was the -ve about? I have already said "For those who interest"?

  • Is this for all HN stores? I was in one today and the best the sales rep could do was $589 for the DC59

    • +1

Unsure, Given the labelling I would assume so, I am in SA anyway…

  • Anyone know if this is available in WA?
I will report back on Monday if no one confirms this before me :)

  • +1

Guys, I reckon the DC 59 for $449 plus the $99 value pack is a much better offer and value for money long term then the DC44.

How many times do you remember that you couldn't be bothered to pull the vacuum cleaner out, pull the chord, bend your back, plug it in to the powerpoint… this could be an alternative to consider. Its mounted on the wall, I reckon Ill vacuum clean more!! Haha!!

For the DC 59 for just an extra $100+ plus the value pack seems to me a better deal.

Will check it out tomorrow at HN Mascot/Supa Centre (NSW) and consider to get one..

  • for the dc59 animal is it possible to do a DJ price match (another $20 off or any other lower prices) then do the trade in? which comes a total of $479

  • damn, that $449 DC59 is not animal version…….

got me excited for a little while for missing the David Jones+Amex sale :-(

  • Dyson DC59 review - Performance and Verdict

    http://www.trustedreviews.com/dyson-dc59_Vacuum-Cleaner_revi…

From the review: With all this said, it does reinforce the fact the Dyson DC59 is really a vacuum cleaner for smaller households. Its size and nimble design make it ideal for small houses and flats, but it’s a tight limit to clean a large family house in 20 minutes – not least as the dust capacity is quite limited, more on which in a moment.

The only downside of the DC59’s compact nature is the frequent trips to the bin. Its 0.5 litre dust capacity is very limited compared to the one to three litres of typical upright vacuum cleaners, a further reminder that it’s not for larger homes.

    However the final verdict:

The Dyson DC59 is one of the most impressive and versatile vacuums we have seen. Yes, it is expensive, very expensive in fact, but you do get what you pay for – and in this case that's a vacuum cleaner capable of easy cleaning across all areas of your home, and one that will look good doing it.

That said, if you have a big house like the Addams Family house and your rubbish bin is far far away, I'd suggest not to take this Dyson DC 59! Sucks! ~ Pun intended.

I got the dc59 for my birthday and I love it. It cleans better than my corded one and is so easy to use that even my hubby and 2 year old will use it. Great for a stay at home mum who is constantly cleaning a house that is never clean lol highly recommend I was skeptical re price but seriously I don't know what I did without it!!

  • How good is this deal really? Considering the tool kit added etc? for the DC59

  • They gave you $100 off even before you gave them your old vac?

    • Correct however from other reports, appears this offer may only be in SA?

      • What if you keep the vac and never give it to them?

  • Good Deal

  • These look nice.

How would these compare to my old Wertheim 4030 Corded (1600W with powerhead) that still feels like its pulling the underlay through the carpet?

Has technology surpassed the old school, or is it more a case of "they don't build them like they used to"?

    • I can only speak from the DC44 perspective and I haven't used a Wertheim.

These stick vacs are amazing but at the end of the day it's just a handheld (arguably the best). Any reputable mid-range vacuum should perform better than these because they're bigger and powered. You could easily live with just a stick vac but I wouldn't recommend it if you had a big or carpeted house.

I think this is best used as well as another vacuum because this can be used conveniently multiple times a day as required and the other vacuum for the deeper clean when required. It's just so convenient to pul off the wall and do a quick run around the kitchen and kids area every day.

I love gadgets and currently have a DC44 Animal, DC39 Animal and Neato XV-21 as what I use. The house also has a Miele Cat/Dog, electrolux stick and some other smaller electrolux cannister in the garage. So I could say I've experienced a few.

TLDR: barrel/canister vac should beat stick.

  • Just call up Castle Hill Store(NSW). The sales person never heard about this promotion.

    • Dandenong Vic .. They have never heard of it also …

      • No trade on offer at Carindle Brisbane. I notice the trade offer nds Sunday (today). I'm in Sydney would love to pick one up today but each HN is a Franchise so not all stores have this offer it would seem.

  • no such offer in Knox and Ringwood VIC

  • No such offer in Preston VIC

  • Oh no, are we all getting trolled by the Christmas grinch? :(
Or maybe Santa just likes SA.

    • apparently Santa only goes to SA…. :-P

  • No such offer in garden city qld

  • Just confirmed, no such offer in WA. It seems. :(

  • Can anyone confirm being able to buy this in NSW?

  • I wonder if anyone has try to price match at DJs.
Went to good guys castle hill was told below cost.

    Really want to get one

    • tried this, they wont price match trade-in, it is a service they do not provide

  • Office works is the only company that are willing to price match below cost price. Anyways, with the trade in vac, does that mean it has to be a In working condition only? Also what do they do with them? Doubt they will be selling sold peice of junk.

  • Anyone can post the receipt of dc59 so I can use it to do price match ? Thanks

    • Are you able to do price match with a receipt?
