Dyson DC37C Original Barrell Vacuum $438 @ TGG (Masters Price Beat $394.20)

180

My flatmate is moving out and she's taking a few of her things with her so I've been out on the market for some household items recently. I've been after a Dyson vacuum cleaner for a while now after I've used it at my parents place and was very impressed with it. This seems to be pretty decent price as a quick search on the competitor's websites show the price for the same item to be quite a bit more. If you're a savvy OzBargainer, you could always get the competitors to price match.

JB Hi-Fi Home @ $579

Masters @ $579

Harvey Norman @ $579

Binglee @ $465

In case there are no TGG stores nearby, the website seems to offer some very reasonable shipping options as well. To where I am located in metro Melbourne (postcode 3150 the door to door delivery option shows as $2 or the premium delivery at $49.

Perhaps my price search abilities aren't as good but I cannot seem to be able to find a cheaper price for a local stock. I think I may be making a trip down to my local TGG tomorrow for a new vacuum. Wonder if I can get a further discount with cash…otherwise I may have to ask them to split the payment in 5 to use my ING paywave :p

EDIT:
I've just returned from Masters and managed to get it price beat 10% which brought it down to $394.20!
For some reason TGG in store price was actually higher than the online price :S

I have tried to establish what the differences are between them but have struggled, stain site sucks a bit as the 37c is not even on there - anyone have a good explanation on the differences between the dc54 and dc37c? Why would someone spend the extra $130?

    • I just price matched this at masters DC54 $539.10

I'm pretty sure Masters only matches appliances now. I can't find anything on their website but last time I was in a store they had banners up saying this.

        • Just called. They can do price match.

Thank you. I just picked one up from Masters with their 10% price beat which brought it down to $394.20. I even got a Samsung front loader and the nice lady even price matched the $2 shipping from TGG!

I almost punched my landlord out fighting over my Dyson.

He was an old nasty piece of work… IQ of 85. He ran around with his 1980's vacuum cleaner, I then pulled out my Dyson. Prick then turned it off, unplugged it then pushed it away while I was using it while he was saying 'I've already vacuumed'. I pulled six barrel's of dirt out of a few square metres…

    They really are worth it!

    • There's gotta be a reality TV pilot in that story.

HN now have them for $435 so with a masters price match its now a bit cheaper.

  • Also confirming that Masters will price match the $438 with another 10% on top of that. They'll want to see the price listing online + call a local store and ask them if they have any in stock.

"For some reason TGG in store price was actually higher than the online price :S"
Just curious, what was the in-store price?

  • Hey can anyone post a masters price match receipt? i called in the morning and Masters employee said they don't match sale prices

    • Just don't say it's a 'sale item'. If you show them the item as advertised on the TGG website, the item is marked as "As Advertised", and NOT as "clearance". Therefore, not a sales item? I showed them the website prices, didn't mention 'sale item'.

  • Just went to Chullora Masters, they said the vacuum was considered an "appliance" and they can only match it according to their guarantee (which was plastered all over the store). DC37's are sold out at the Chullora store, we were able to order on matched price. Sad that I couldn't get the price beat :(

    • Yeah I called Chullora, and they said they ran out, went to another closer masters near me, and they price matched and beat them as well.

  • I bought one from master knoxfield with price match yesterday(394.20).they checked TGG website and done it,still 2 left.

Just did the same, got the last 3 at my local store, for myself, and my sister and gf. Price matched and beaten too, Sales people were shocked too!

  • Masters have now dropped their price for the DC37c to $435.

    • Yes, i went to pick up mine today only to find their price has dropped.
can someone please post their receipts up?
I wonder is they can price beat master-to-master stores.
