  • Seems like limited stock everywhere except TAS

Intel Bay Trail CPU is better than Clover Trail. So the Asus T100 is better value unless you want 11.6".

    $479 at DSE.

Thanks for mentioning that. But I tried Asus T100 in the shop and feel sorry for its cheap plastic feeling.

      • I am using it now and actually not that bad and the fingerprint also not that worse like the demo unit.

Except the plastic feel it runs a lot smoother.

        • Thanks for your advice

I might keep my money until the newer 32gb eMMS + 500gb available in Australia.

        • No information whether it will come or not and you cannot install apps on it because it will not available if you detach the keyboard. So 32Gb is not enough for apps.

        • great point! Try it again tomorrow. Hope officeworks would match price and beat 5%

      • if it feels plastic then get a $15 leather case. Fixed.

Thanks for the advice. However, I do not understand why people would like to use a case. When the manufactures try their best to reduce the thickness of their products. We, as consumers, try to add back what they reduced. LOL
Personally, I leave all my electronic devices naked without cases or screen protectors

Intel atom. It will get sluggish and you might feel helpless.

  • I bought T100, only down part for me is the size of screen, it operate pretty smooth for me, all good.

    • Think of it as a tablet and use the Metro interface you will start to think 10.1" is the perfect size for tablet, 11.6" is a bit too big to hold as a tablet.

The only thing is the screen resolution is not so good as my iPad 3 retina display. Some small character is not clear enough and have to zoom in.

I got this last time it was at this price and returned it 2 weeks later because it does not have the power to run basic software

    • Do you mean I should switch to Asus T100?

      • Yes the old Clover Trail CPU is a bit too slow even on Microsoft Office. My friend tried the old Lenovo Tablet 2 and complained it was too slow to run Office. The ASUS T100 is a lot better and also comes with MS Office 2013 Home and Student free.

So what do you reckon. BTW I price matched with Centrecom price at Officeworks a few weeks ago and got it for $444. So with Dick Smith you should not have problem if they still have stock.

Seem like DSE is out of stock now, you can try price match Centrecom but they are in store only.
