  • I keep wondering if these machines ever sell when they are at full price.

They seem to keep coming out on half price special. Did they make too many of them and are trying to get rid of them? Did they put them out at the wrong price in the first place and is this a price correction? I always get concerned when products go on half price sale most of the time.

    • It's like printer companies selling their printers so cheap, they want you to buy the machines so you can then purchase the ink cartridges, which is where all the profit is.

Same in this case, purchase the coffee machine so you can then purchase the coffee pods :)

I'm very happy with my $50 Dulce Gusto machine from Coles.

    • They make their money on the pods. I bought the $50 mini dolce gusto from Coles as well. but they aren't exactly cheap it works out to $1 per coffee

      • Buy the Cafe Latte, you only need 1 pod per coffee, not 2 per coffee like Cappuccino. So it works out to $0.50 a coffee :)

I prefer the Cafe Latte anyway, the Cappuccino is a bit sweet for my tastes.

        • Americano is good too!

        • Thanks will do that, need to get milk frother as we'll then I guess

The milk and coffee is in the 1 pod, instead of separate pods like a Cappuccino. It's not straight black coffee or anything, you don't need anything further.

  • This is available at all Woolworths, have updated title, details and link accordingly.

    Thank you for the edit.

  • I'm thinking of buying one. Don't know which one to buy though, the Caffitaly or the Dulce. Does the coffee taste better than the more expensive instant coffee brands? How much coffee do you get out of a capsule, is it at least half a cup or more? Any help would be great, thanks.

    • You get what you are supposed to get, about 30ml of coffee. If you want long black you add more hot water, otherwise fill with milk for latte, cappucino etc.
Taste is significantly better than instant. If you want even better, you need to get a manual machine and fresh beans.

    • I can't comment on the Caffitaly, as I only have the Dolce. Both machines are capsules are similarly priced. You do get a welcome/sample pack with the Dolce either with the machine or online delivered to you.

I'm very happy with the Dolce, I didn't want to pay Nespresso pod prices (about 70-80 cents a pod) as I'm not that fussy about coffee, however I'm very happy with the Dolce and everyone that has tried it has been quite surprised. The cafe latte pods at 50 cents each keep me happy.

It's not as an authentic coffee taste as say a Nespresso machine, but it is still very good, and blows a cup of instant coffee away :p Although I read alot of coffee experts say Nespresso machines are quite overrated.

The pods are designed to make a 180ml-200ml coffee for a latte/cappucino/long black type, however if your cup is bigger then you can still fill it up, it will just be a bit weaker obviously.

      • About the starter pack, on the box it had a picture with 6 free capsules, but this was nowhere to be found in the box? Did you find it inside your box? Ordered the sampler anyway, just curious.

        • +2

When I purchased mine, it was in the box. However my friend purchased one a couple weeks ago and said the same thing as you, picture on the box but nowhere to be found. So they must have removed them, he ordered the sampler online and received that last week, they sent quite a generous amount (8 capsules cappuccino, 8 capsules hot chocolate and a sample pack of 6 capsules), about $20 worth at least.

        • Do you know where your friend got the sampler from, was it the Dulce website?

        • Yup here is the link:
          https://www.nestle.au.simplicitycrm.com/editors/content.aspx…

It says you just get the sample pack, but they sent him a pack of cappuccino and hot chocolate as a bonus, hopefully they still do that.

          Thank you.

  • I am not a big coffee drinker, but wanted an espresso machine on the cheap. I bought the ALDI one because the pods work out to be around 35 cents. It tastes ok. How do the Woollies pods taste in comparison?

    • a hell of alot nicer, also i ahve one of these and aldi pods fit in it, so maybe it works both ways?

  • I think I'll go with the Dulce, as it seems you can put a longer cup into the machine.

I got the Caffitaly for my birthday in November - I must say I really do like it
It may not heat up as hot as I would like it, but its an easy fix in the microwave for 1 min
The pods are pretty cheap I think … they had a special some weeks back …bought 32 pods for $12
For a cheap coffee machine I cant complain & with the variety of flavours, you cant go wrong

Other than the Woolworths pods, it's compatible with Gloria Jeans Coffee & Twinnings pods
You can also fit a big mug under it too, by just taking the drip tray out
My wife & I love it - we do like 2 to 4 cups a day
Just my 2 cents … haven't got a Dolce to compare, but very happy nonetheless

  • Woolies is marking down these s14 models because now they have a newer s20 model with fancy touch buttons and white colors
