ASUS Transformer Book T100 $479 at The Good Guys or $455 at Officeworks (Pricematch)

150

Just like the previous DSE deal except appears to be until sales ends rather than one day sale(dse).
Other retailers still selling this for $599.

These things are great for the price, especially as it has full office suite and windows 8 included.
Was expecting it to be slugish but have experienced no slowdowns even N360 and various 1080p YT.

Took me the better half of 2days to get the hang of Metro.

Pricematch at Officeworks for further 5% off.

    just turn it off…

    • +1

Why would you want to turn off Metro on a Tablet.

      • As 3/4 of the time you need to revert back to desktop anyways and metro apps are severely lacking in both quantity and quality.

        • I myself use 3/4 of the time on Metro because I only use it for browsing fb not 100% like a desktop replacement.

I always wondering what people do when they need to switch back to desktop?

Has anyone tried running Bluestacks on this device, how well does it run Android games via Bluestacks?

I haven't personally, but This Youtube Video shows it to work quite well with most general games.

Review here of the processor says it can play 4K video too…

I have set the power plan to go to shut down when close the lid but enabled "Turn on fast start". I have a few time it will boot into a white screen and I have to force to shut it down.

    Anyone? Already updated the BIOS.

Other than that I am very happy with it, I seldom use my desktop and laptop now.

  • Can anyone confirm if this supports Widi? Seen some videos on youtube suggesting it can do it but cant see specs to support that.

    • Just tried T100 allow me to select second display but I don't have a compatible TV not very sure any problem.

  • Does anyone think its worth upgrading to this from an Asus eee pad transformer tf101.

I rarely use this is its so slow and cannot play full hd movies. Im also travelling O/S in April.

    • That is android and this one is full Windows 8.

But anyway T100 can do full HD fine and the Bay Trail CPU can do 4k video and even can play 3D games.

But you better made sure you are ok with windows 8 tablet.

Wanted to report deal still alive as of January 2nd 2014
I price matched at Officeworks Newcastle and scored a final price of $431
    Pretty stoked with this gadget!

    • How can you get it for $431?

    • +1

Also interested in how you for it for that price, i have a friend who needs one after he saw mine

      • I also got it for $431. Went in today to Office Works and within 2 minutes of talking to the the person working there I walked out a happy chap. The reason its discounted by more than the 5% is because officeworks are price matching selected school list stuff by 10%.
