Got one from MSY a couple of months ago ($24), absolute crap speakers!!! Waste of money.

    • Whats wrong with them?
I have them and think there great

  • +3

I wouldnt consider this as a bargain. Only slightly cheaper than other shops

Subwoofer is not great in this set.

    $25 @ Mwave http://www.mwave.com.au/product/logitech-ls21-21-stereo-spea…

    $26 @ Big W http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics/computers-office/computer…

  • Only slightly cheaper than other shops

    Cheaper is cheaper.
    What is your point?
Dying to comment but Nothing much to says?

    • His point is that a few dollars cheaper than the average price is not a bargain.

      • +1

I would have to disagree.. $20 for Brand name speakers and subwoofer is a good deal.

        Average reveiw 3.5/5..

        • $20 for Brand name speakers and subwoofer is a good deal.

The normal selling price is $24 to $25, that's all you need to look at. Having a brand name and a subwoofer is irrelevant, the normal market price is still the same.

As mentioned earlier these are disgraceful quality and only have 7 watts of output. I wouldn't even consider it a bargain at $10.

Simple mathematics is obviously too difficult for you then? The percentage saved on these speakers compared to the "RRP" you mentioned definitely makes this a bargain.

        • +3

          @Chthonic
          Totally agreed
20% cheaper than the next cheapest is not slightly cheaper

I always researched and spent a lot of time before posting a deal for my fellow Ozbargainers..

I will never be a vote chaser here like some and I believe that sharing is caring and this dedication to my kindhearted fellow Ozbargainers will never ever changed .

Have a nice day and thank you

Whoah, we have a feisty one here. Ohh, the insult.

FYI, the official currency of Australia is the AUD, not percentages.

How ironic that I have to explain to you, a self appointed mathematician, that the percentage saving translates into bugger all actual saving. $4 wouldn't even cover the fuel cost for most people to drive to the store. Your basic percentage observation is useless and irrelevant.

Not to mention the actual product is a piece of crap that's an embarrassment for the Logitech brand.

FYI, when working with BASIC arithmetic it's generally expected that one uses the appropriate unit of measurement. In this case we're using percentages to tell us how much we can save (since some of us are too stupid to figure this out).

How ironic that I have to explain to you, a self appointed mathematician, that the percentage saving translates into bugger all actual saving

Last time I checked a 20% saving on the cheapest possible price is a bargain.

$4 wouldn't even cover the fuel cost for most people to drive to the store.

While we're making stupid statements about how a 20% saving is not significant let's also make wild assumptions that cannot be proven.

Your basic percentage observation is useless and irrelevant.

Why are you even arguing? You've been proven wrong and now it seems like you're just spouting nonsense for the sake of it.

          Get a life mate.

Marketing people use percentages when advertising savings, consumers use dollars. That is the method of payment. Dollars.

Last time I checked a 20% saving on the cheapest possible price is a bargain.

It's a few dollars of savings on a junk product. That's not a bargain.

You cannot say 20% is a significant saving unless you relate it to a real world saving. A few dollars is not a significant saving for a crap product.

Why are you even arguing? You've been proven wrong and now it seems like you're just spouting nonsense for the sake of it.
          Get a life mate.

Ah, struggling to justify your position so you need to pull out the "get a life" card. Thanks for confirming you never had a real point to make.

        • I think we're done here mate.

You are way too stubborn to admit you're wrong. A 20% saving is significant, it doesn't matter what the cost was. Are you seriously going to bitch about all the 90c tweezer threads that pop up?

        • What do you mean it doesn't matter what the cost was. To most normal people, the actual monetary value does matter. How else are you supposed to determine how much of a saving you make? Do you always mindlessly look at the percentage of discount instead of the actual monetary figure? If techniques of mindless consumerism is being taught in schools now maybe this explains Australia's personal debt crisis…

        • Are you serious or just trolling? I was talking relatively, the original value does not matter if it was 50c or $5000.

You made me smile at least, haven't argued with anyone that couldn't interpret basic English before.

Mindless consumerism, right. Perhaps use some basic thought and reason to figure out that IF a product is ~20% cheaper than what's currently on the market it deserves to be posted on Ozbargain. If you don't personally like the deal it does not mean it's not a bargain…

If you want to turn you being wrong into blaming others for "mindless consumerism" because you don't agree with a deal then go nuts. I'll see you bitching in the 90c tweezer threads I mentioned about how much they're destroying our economy… Give me a break.

This is my last post in this thread, I know you're just going to quote everything and continue to argue about how something that's 20% off the cheapest price doesn't matter. For the future, instead of being arrogant and bitching about the deal maybe use this time to actually help people by posting deals, like the OP has.

You've posted a whopping 9 deals which don't even return any results.

        • Looks like all you have left is personal attacks. That indicates to me that you never had any argument in the first place and you just wanted to troll. Thank you for confirming that my statements cannot be beaten and you need to resort to attacking to make your point.

      • +1

His point is that a few dollars cheaper than the average price is not a bargain.

        oh the irony…

        • You understand what the word average means, right?

        • +3

the irony of the quote is that this comment was posted on ozbargain - where we are all about saving "a few dollars"

        • -3

We are here for bargains not slightly cheaper than average prices..

  • -1

Dont bother with these speakers there total crap

    • +5

      where?

  • I got the Creative A220 for $27 from MSY over the LS21, overall better I think

  • Had these speakers (not the sub) ages ago, lasted 1 week. Expensive for a basic speaker which can easily blow

    • I got them without the subwoofer too. I agree, they're fairly poor quality, didn't last long.

  • I swear i got a set of these for 20-30 bucks 7-8 years ago…

    • Yeh I still got mine which I bought like 7 years ago for around the same price.

  • +4

For $20 you won't get better PC speakers. If you're blowing them up, you're expecting too much of this bracket of hardware.

Excellent for people who require a headphone jack and a volume control.

    • If you're blowing them up, you're expecting too much of this bracket of hardware.

I can assure you, I didn't blow mine up. They're generally only used for skype, and the odd Thomas Tank you tube video. I'd had them probably 3 or 4 months before they started humming. The hum coming out of them now is louder than what I'm trying to listen to.

  • -1

Got this, already threw away, crappy speakers. Good price though, but don't expect much.

  • +2

For a basic set of speakers these are fine. Have had mine for a couple of years.

  • -1

Not suggest to buy, sound quality is crap

  • +4

hearing all the comments about crap speakers etc makes me laugh. They are not supposed to be the equivelent of 300 dollar speakers. I have a client that is old and just been given a very modern lappy. All he uses it for is to play dvd movies and music (it's still too complex for him to learn anything else).

He complains the sound is poor (volume) so he is the market this deal is aimed at, someone who wants a bit of volume, not sound purity.

I'm seeing a lot of ozbargainers that have come to expect 99% off on most stuff while still expecting 10,000 dollar quality, Get real guys it's not going to happen.

If you're not going to buy it yourself don't diss it cause you can afford or have a better product in the top shelf range. Most ppl expect low quality from something in this price bracket.

  • +1

    Hi All,

First, thanks theearth for posting this deal - certainly caught my eye - $20 for speaker with subwoofer.

Second, thanks for all the comments, critical or otherwise….

I appreciate the views of fellow Ozbargainers, especially those who have got or tried out the product - we all love to save a few dollars, but if the product doesn't perform, what's the point ??

Cheers and Happy New Year to all.

    • For $20 how else do you want it to perform? do you want a pair of z906/5500 for the price? It works, its good for monitors without speakers that's the point.

  • I'll put my hand up as another who is less than satisfied with these speakers.

90% of the time I have my headphones plugged in to the remote, but each time I want to use the speakers they drop out due to poor connections inside the remote which requires bashing it on the desktop to get sound started again.

At this price they are about $18 too expensive.
