        Always 0.90c at my Coles.
They no longer do 5 for $4.00.

        • It's a shame, I literally just got back from Coles trying to buy the 5 for $4 special. Went through self-serve, wondered why the special wasn't coming up, there was still one sign in the section that said 5 for $4 so got them for 80c.

      • I love coles Mexican, its weird other brands don't due this (beans, chili, Tomato and Capsicum).

        • iirc, Aldi does one like that. I might be wrong though! Haven't had the Aldi tunas in a long while, but you might as well check it out :P

i bought heaps of fresh/frozen salmon recently from woolworths/coles deals, chopped it up into 100g packs and froze it. worked out to about $18/kg. this canned stuff costs ~$14/kg

That's not bad but I like the convenience of chucking a few in my bag and eating randomly (Shift worker so never know when or where I'll be eating)

    • $100 worth of tuna - that's the meaning of life right there

  • That's pretty normal.Cheapest I have seen was from Woolies 94c each this year.

    • Ive seen them cheaper at IGA they where 74c at .. that day i bought ~ 150 and cleared all the shelf

  • Time to stock up on the lime & ginger flavor

      gag

Only coles spicy chilli style +/- brine +/- sweetcorn/mayonnaise for me

      Everything else… just sucks =(

I won't ever pay more than $1 for tuna, so never really often try other brands out often enough to have a preference.

I prefer Woolies Select tuna in most cases.

The John West Olive oil blend can for example is inferior to the Select version, more liquid less tuna and not all of it olive oil either.

    • Woolies select tuna is also 40% off this week ($1) - I agree about it tasting better + its pole and line caught.

    • Agree. John West always uses skipper jack tuna which is cheaper and tastes not as good as yellow fin tuna Wow Select used, until recently think Select changed to skipper jack too. Sirena still uses yellow fin which is why it is more expensive and tastes better.

Yum. Love canned tuna. Taste better than fresh tuna.

  • Sirena has the best flavour, but I limited myself to one can a week after i heard the controversy about mercury poisoning.

  • :) Just went and stocked up :)

Also got the 25c fuel discount…

    Thanx

  • Mild Indian curry wins the best flavour for me

ALDI sell Portview flavoured tuna at $0.79c year-round. They have really really nice flavours such as mango chilli, tomato capers, mexican salsa etc.

  • Ah John West in Olive Oil is one of my favourites! Coles Select in Olive Oil is waay too salty. Good find OP!
