    hmm maybe belongs in forum?

maybe list the savings in post

  • +6

Server still down? Maybe we shall wait for the next Boxing day sale.

    • +1

Yeah I'm hanging out for those special online deals and free delivery

  • +6

Despite boxing day sales, stocktake sale etc etc, STILL the Antler luggage is only 40% off. I bought it 3 weeks before christmas at 50% off. Just a heads up for people who think that this is myers best sale…

  • +1

are they their compensatory specials? cos the sale is pretty bland.

  • +1

    what extra savings?

  • +1

Come on skincare…….I'm waiting for that sale. 25% off currently but Priceline had 40% off. They likely won't reach that far but at least 30% off please Myer.

  • +5

I really do not believe that anyone at Myer has the slightest idea what they are doing: website f***ed over the most important 3 days of the retail year, half-arsed sales, management who still think it's 1985… I used to think it was quite funny but now it's just gotten a bit sad. I doubt anyone will miss them when they finally go.

    • +3

Well, according to their CEO Bernie Brookes online shopping accounts for less than 1% of their sales.
But with a website like that, it's not hard to see why…

      • +1

Myer are total amateurs in the online sales market. Totally useless company leadership. As for B&M stores i live in a medium sized regional city where there's no Myer store in sight any where within hundreds of kms. Myer only cares about capital cities at their detriment. I have no way of visiting a Myer store. On the other hand Big W, Kmart, Target they're all here and seem to be profitable. It's no wonder Myer is a failure it's run by dinosaur leadership that thinks capital cities are the be all of the retail market. Myer deserves to fail.

        • You're painting an unrealistic picture of the Australian retail market. As an example, Target is in big financial trouble. Here is one of many articles about their woes,
          http://m.smh.com.au/business/retail/target-a-broken-business…

But, at least they are doing something. Myer, on the other hand, is too complacent in a market where Australian retail is crumbling. I'd also wager that David Jones will either change drastically or die out too.

    RIP MYER

Bernie only has a few months until retirement. His aides tell me he's hooked on ordering walking shoes and those Hawaiian shirts along with those crazy drinking straws off Amazon, in preparation for the big day.

I suppose with just a few months to go fixing major issues wouldn't be high on the agenda. Let the replacement CEO inherit the crap sort of thing. It's no wonder the myer web site is still crapped. According to the current CEO the online store only accounts for less than 1% of sales so there wouldn't be much urgency to get it going again any time soon with that kind of attitude if a CEO sees an online store as relatively unimportant to the bottom line.

I've never heard of other businesses web sites being down for this long.

      • +1

How can the Myer board think this is a good look?

  • +1

The site is up again :)

      • +1

So buggy! I am getting errors left right and center.

IBM WebSphere seems like a piece of shit, they would have been better off with woocommerce ;) haha

        • "CookieErrorView" seems to be the culprit much of the time.

        • Clearing cookies / opening incognito in Chrome seems to fix it.

  • According to their FB page, there is free standard delivery on all items until Sun 5 Jan.

  • So the site is up but I don't see these deals available online?

    Am I missing something?

    • Anyone have any ideas?

  • Don't bother people the site is still screwed! No add to bag option at all! even quick view won't work so there is no way to add anything to your bag.

    • +1

Might be your browser, Add to Bag is there for me

Not that there is anything worth adding

      • Yep it's internet explorer. Google chrome works fine so I had to download that

  • +1

they should have just stayed offline. their bargains are bad and they should feel bad -_-

  • I Went through over 100 pages of mens clothes and to be honest I think all the men's stuff that's on sale is their old stock that is filling up in their inventory that they need to get rid of! Basically everything new isn't on sale.

    • That is what everyone's sales are like. It is a "clearance sale". It is rare for a retailer to also have new full priced items discounted.

  • There are a few good beauty discounts, especially with the free postage.

    • Yes! I placed an order this morning and 2 of my items are already in the post for me.

  • +1

Oh goody.. got an error message on the myer site after it took my money from paypal

It seems we're having some technical issues at
the moment. We're doing everything we can to
bring the site back online as soon as possible.

If you are looking for store details or would like to
speak to someone about an order, please contact

our Customer Service Team on 13 69 37.

and having a look through the orders none are listed..

(not sure why that line is in bold)

    • An email order confirmation did eventually come through, do hopefully all good.

  • Free next day delivery it seems for me. Lucky.

  • its back up!!!!!!!!!!!

  • +1

So I've checked with a few different Myer stores and apparently these offers don't apply to items that are already on sale.

Which makes very little sense, given that practically everything is on sale at the moment!

  • +1

The postage is soooo weird. I ordered 3x the same product and 2x the same of another product. Identical not a different colour or size.
I will be receiving each item separately and on different dates sourced from a different location.

Went into Myer today looking for the Essteele pans and found out that they were about 10% more in store. Two different stores in WA said their "policy" does not allow them to match online prices.

Got annoyed at them and asked DJs to price match Myers' own website (which they happily did). Well done Myer.

    • +1

their "policy" does not allow them to match online prices.

what have they called it? "How to lose customers and blame online shopping"?

    • I was told the same at the Launceston Myer store, its at the managers discretion whether they price match their own website…wtf?

  • +1

Even their Team Leader admitted that the "policy" doesn't make sense and tried to laugh it off. I did not find it funny at all.

    • +2

It's their BBDDD Policy. (Bernie Brookes Don't Do Deals)

  • +4

Myer sent me a refund via paypal without contacting me to explain why… bad practise

  • +3

Same thing happened to me. Refunded 3 of my orders via paypal and didn't even have the courtesy to send an explanation. Was there too many free postage sales? Or were you advertising stock you didn't have. Either way terrible customer service!

    • +1

Cancelled/refunded 3 out of 4 (or 75%) with no explanation at the time. Seems to be a common issue looking at Myer's Facebook page …. which is down at the moment!

  • +3

they don't want to honour the free delivery on a small ticket item… I bought pudding and honey

  • +3

unexplained cancelled orders. if they were so uptight about small orders getting free shipping, they should've had a minimum spend to qualify for it.
