Gotta love some quality training, especially when it's free. Unsure how long this offer is for.

  • Cheers thanks.. this is great as I was going to start to delve into html..

    • Nice. Just started doing the course myself. Late night coming up!

I have only attempted one course with Udemy and found that quality is not a word I can apply to it. Hopefully this one is better.

When anyone asks about Udemy I say the quality is "variable". Depends on the course and the tutor. Probably the same as any face to face course, where much depends on the teacher's knowledge and ability to instruct.

      • Yes but usually trainers work for a company and there's a minimum standard. There really is no minimum standard on Udemy. Some of the courses are truly terrible, and while that is the fault of the content creator, the site does not really screen courses at all.

Now maybe this is meant to sort itself out with ratings and feedback, but that take time, especially if it's a course that isn't popular.

Man, Tightarse is pretty hardcore when it comes to Bargain hunting.

  • I agree on quality.
Some are just plain excellent !
Some are hard work even to understand the language.
My worst was an indian for networking.
So hard to understand what he ws saying or getting at but as I had 'some' idea on the concepts, I got where he was at.
If you were a total noob, no hope.

I've done a beginners HTML and CSS course with a canadian lady.
She was so good ! Great course. Easy to understand. A great base to start off with.

But then again, being free and tight arses we all are, just grab all the freebies you can and sort out which is good and bad yourself.

  • ps.. the one I found very helpful as my 1st intro to HTML and CSS was this one :
    https://www.udemy.com/step-by-step-html-and-css-for-absolute…

The one posted here is also excellent but it's the one I would recommend after the 1st one I just listed.
This one starts off very basic then gets heavy quite quickly and might turn you off
I'm half way through this one and stopped as he's hit some harder topics like Java etc….
    GET IT !

  • I finally signed up to Udemy for this. Might do it in my break before my Web Programming course next semester, to make it a bit easier.

  • This has been free for an year. I remember using the code TINTIN.
