Asus TAICHI31-CX020P i5-3337U 2.7GHz 13.3inch Dual Screen Touch Ultrabook Convertible Tablet

I'm looking for windows 8.1 tablet (32-64GB SSD) or ultrabook with SSD (128GB minimum). Will use it mainly for Lightroom, photoshop, etc. (photo editing). I got an email from shopping express:

Epic hour sale for $1099 (spec below). Do you guys think it's a good deal or a bargain? Any recommendation for value for money? Thanks much.

  • With TRS, I think is bargain, according to Staticice, the lowest price is 13xx, buy it first, think it later.

  • not a bad device/price for the taichi. but tbh if you don't have a specific need for that secondary touch screen on the back you're probably better off spending your money elsewhere - keeping in mind this is a 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge processor which means less battery life.

there's meant to be an N-Trig digitizer pen somewhere but i'm not sure, some say it comes bundled others are separate. might depend on the model

not a bad deal though (if you can get it), only 20 in stock!

  • Thanks much guys for the tips. I may be leaning towards Sony Vaio Duo Pro 13? Longer battery life, 4th gen Intel. Dunno if u can get it close to $1K though. :)

    • No - you won't get that Sony close to 1K for quite a while I'm afraid.

SVD13211CGW - Our wholesale BUY price is more than $1400. This is reflected by the selling price on the net. About $1575 AT LEAST + delivery.

The Taichi you mentioned started at close to $2k when it was a new model also. The only reason it's $1K now is to make room for 4th Gen models.

I would personally grab the Asus at $1K, because there's no way you're getting 50% more computer buying the Sony.

Yes, battery life, but performance wise there's not a lot in it PLUS you're essentially buying two screens….$1K is a true bargain.

  • Yeah made ip my mind to get the sony (at the right price off coz ) :) btw do u know if ram is upgradeable? Heard it s soldered to the board? Ta
