iOS: 7 Minute Workout Challenge (Normally $0.99) Now Free, Limited Time

770

Hi all,

Just notice this morning the "7 minute workout challenge" app is free for limited time - until 20th Feb 2014. Unfortunately I paid 99c last year and I can say this is a great workout app. Best of all you can workout while watching tv!

To redeem the code:

Download "Apple Store" App: https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/apple-store/id375380948?mt=8

1) open "Apple Store" app from your apple device (Not the Apple Store website or App Store)
2) click "Featured" bar on the bottom left corner, then second bar "Jump Into The New Year.."
3) once you're in just follow the prompts
4) redeem the code and enjoy working out!

(Sorry there's no direct link to the Apple Store app)

Perhaps it's my hangover's fault, but I can't see any "jump into the new year" thing anywhere.

    • me either

  • ..

    • I think you pointed a different app, there are tons of '7 minute workout' app out there

      • Are you in the "Featured" section? On the Apple Store app. If not go in there and it should be there, on the second line below "Mac Pro"

  • for those interested, check out the free Men's Health Get Back In Shape app.

I searched - there are a number of apps with variations of the name "7 minute workout". The one with the same icon as OP posted shows up as $1.99.

The "New Year New You" entry (top row on my iPhone's app store) only links to one of them (not the one OP posted, free but looks like there is in app stuff)

Ok, this is strange, but on my apple store app, on the Featured page, second line (below the Mac Pro line) that's where the link to the code.

  • on iPad in Apple Store: wait and watch the top section and the icons as ads will start moving from right to left - and one of those will be a kind of greenish colour and titled New Year, New You. Just jump there.

Don't be confused with AppStore and Apple Store. To get this app, you need to go to Apple Store app. Thanks OP!

    • thank you for the clarification :)
      downloading the 7min workout now!

  • I found it under the "Apple Store" app (the one with the shopping cart in the icon) as opposed to the "App Store"

  • I found it , and Gave me a code to redeem, but it didn't download. When Try again it says code already redeemed, but it isn't available. If I go to the App Store now will it charge me?

    • If the code worked, then the app should say download where the price would be

  • Worked and installed fine via Apple Store (not App Store) Thanks!

  • Ok. As an iPad user I had to download Apple Store. When you search for it you have to choose "iPhone only". Install the Apple store and then you will be able to get your app.

  • works great thx

I'm going to make an app called '6 minute workout challenge'….

    • That's good. Unless, of course, somebody comes up with '5 minute workout challenge'. Then you're in trouble, huh?

There's actually 6 or 7 of these apps and I tried them all out one day for kicks.

IMHO this 7 min workout app is better:

    https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/the-7-minute-workout/id65340…

It's always free, has no in-app purchases, it works even with the mute button on which NONE of the other apps do and best of all it works in the backgound, or with the screen off which NONE of the other apps do either (I found that with the screen on during a workout I would accidentally hit the pause or forward button with my clothing or iPhone holder).

Literally the only thing a couple of the other apps do better is enable you to select how many circuits you want to do and the only ones that offer that feature either cost upfront or via in-app purchases (also it's no hardship to press the GO button again if you so desire).

To clarify the exercises and timings are EXACTLY the same with EVERY version of this app and are based around high intensity exercise which work different muscles in a particular order to maximise time and outcomes.

One link which the OP's app contains and which some of the others don't is for the science behind the workout. Here's the link:

Hence my comment above! I was hoping someone was going to start quoting the serial killer, so classic!

  • thanks OP !

    Now it's $2?!

  • works great!

    $1.99

    • That would be the price if you choose not to read the detailed instructions above.

  • will this actually help you lose weight if you do it everyday once but no other type of workouts?

    • I'm no expert but this is what they've written down from the 7 minute workout challenge app

      ===================

"The researchers have put together 12 exercises that can be performed in seven minutes but achieve the equivalent of an hour’s workout. The catch is the following: you need to do them to the best of your abilities (high-intensity) and rest very little in between (10 seconds only). When rest intervals are too long though, it undermines the effectiveness of the workout. The 7 Minute Workout effectively increases your metabolism, so the benefits are in effect throughout the day."

If you're burning more calories than what you consume, theoretically you should lose weight.

That's key, the main point to loosing weight would be less food than usual, some PTs say that food accounts for 85% of loosing weight, exercise accounts for 15%. Sleep is important too, to get the right balance of hormones and reduce stress.

  • Guys, regarding the sit-ups and push-ups in this workout, are there any other form of exercise that substitutes them?
Honestly I can barely do two of each.
I'm planning to use this as a basis of my weight loss etc.

Thnks guys appreciate it. Love yall.
