My last order with The Hut never showed up after 6 weeks, and The Hut flat out refused to provide a refund or replacement or even investigate the missing item.

Turns out you have to wait at least 30 days to report something as missing, but they're also unwilling to do anything about a missing item after 40 days — which leaves you a very narrow 10 day window to report a missing item.

It took my money, cancelled my order and emailed me no money had been taken out of my PayPal account.

Yeah they aren't that reputable with their customer service (quick search on HotUKDeals will reveal), however I haven't had a bad experience with them yet (phew).

Recently bought a Numatic vacuum cleaner from Zavvi, which forced £11.99 tracking delivery because it's bulky. The tracking link never worked, despite it claims that the tracking should be available after 12 hours. So 12 days later I complained about the tracking issue, they immediately apologised, stated that they made an error which sent the item WITHOUT tracking, and refund the 12 pound as my account credit. The item turned up at my door 2 days later.

      • I purchased once with lookfantastic.com another one of thehut brands, payment went through all good. A few days later they sent me the tracking code in the dispatch email and it also said to wait 12 hours before the code can be tracked. One week later and the code still didn't work. I emailed them about the issue but got a standard reply to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery, but they didn't answer my question. Two weeks later code still didn't work so I emailed them again and again same reply and still no answer to my question. I pretty much gave up on my £60 order and said to never order from them again. But by the 5th week the order turned up……….

Never buy their bundle deals (2 for 20 etc.)

I haven't been back since they accidentally sold me an item they no longer had stock of (which was part of a bundle). They cancelled only that item, and ended up charging me MORE than I had authorised on checkout for less items due to the crappy individual price of the remaining item.

Worst customer service ever. They just told me it was too late to do anything about it even though I immediately contacted them on receiving the email notification…

In that case, but something else of same value then tell them it never arrived. I hate sites that screw you over, so you need to screw them back. But harder

    • For those voting this suggestion down, the world doesn't run on good wishes and fairy dust. If you don't look out for you, no-one else will.

    • I went with a credit card chargeback, so at least I was able to recover my money. The Hut's response was unacceptable to me, particularly since without a tracking number and with them being completely unwilling to investigate I have no way of knowing they even sent the order out.

      (I didn't downvote you.) :)

  • Both PHIL15 and TECHR20 did not work on them. Only 10% off works.

    • PHIL15 still works. Also try RTECH20 for 20% off electrical.
