  • Seems a good price, battery life is pretty poor, around 5 minutes.

    Tempted though!

    http://www.swannstore.com.au/fun/swtoy-skduel.html

    For 29!

    • +1

I was less tempted when this came one did not have free postage… $16.

Although if you add the one that the OP mentioned - it goes to free postage, so it is almost like 2 more heli's for $4

    • The one you listed battery better than OP?

      • Not sure, the look better at least.

    • I note also that these are IR and not 2.4Ghz… just something to note

    • +1

The duelling ones are infra-red remote - no thanks its a PITA

  • +1

Good deal. The bundle has two helicopters. 2 for 20! =D

  • Sounds like a real Ozbargain !!!
    2 radio controlled micro helicopters for $20 - $10 each !!

    Bought.
    Hope they work OK.

  • Cheers OP :)

  • Thanks Hipmumm :) been waiting for a cheap one

  • you cant attach a gopro to the heli, right?

    • +3

      lol

    • Too heavy. Would not lift off the ground…

    • +4

Don't be silly… of course you can!

Flying it with the gopro is another case altogether.

      • Depends on how much you value the gopro lulz

    • GoPro outweighs the chopper. You'd need an army of them to pick it off the ground.

  • Bought 3! Thanks.

  • Got one. Thanks

  • I already have a 'spare' chopper in my cupboard, but can't go past this deal.
Bonus that my kids favourite colours are red & blue!

  • +7

I find it hard to believe they were selling these for $140 >_<

  • Top! ✈️✈️

    • And two more orders in from me!

  • Thanks OP grabbed one

  • thanks OP. Just grabbed 2. Although im hoping we haven't ozbargained it and they are all gone.

  • How long does the order confirmation email take to arrive?

  • $40-$50 heli. Still a good price with free shipping.

  • Thanks OP, just ordered one…+1

  • bought one, my very first chopper!

  • just 1 of these is going for $50 on ebay.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2013-Micro-Lightning-Extreme-Velo…

    bargain at 2 for $20.

  • +2

    Get to da choppa(s)!

  • Bought one, wonder if they are hard to control.

    • Reviews I read said it's pretty much the easiest small helicopter to fly. Others I've flown have all been very simple

      • Ok, was just wondering cause I bought a cheap one from eBay a while back and it was the hardest thing to fly (spinning in circles etc).

      • +6

Coaxial rotors (dual rotor set) are very easy to fly.
They spin in opposite directions and cancel out any torque.
It's the ones with only single rotors that are a challenge.
What I would say about these with non-removeable batteries is stop flying once you notice a power drop and recharge.
The tendency is to fly it till it won't go any more and that really shortens the life of the batteries since they probably have no cut-off feature.

  • Good price, will go in the cupboard for gifts to the next kids parties.

  • +4

    Impulse buying territory.

    Didn't want a r/c heli, bought 2.

  • +6

Bought and don't even need it.

Someone remind me why i hate love ozbargain

    • +2

      Ozbargain ain't a site, it's a cult lol.

  • LOL got me one too :)

  • +3

Impulse buy, and January was going to be my month for saving and not buying things that are not needed.

  • Mate of mine got one of these for Chrissy and I had a go. Good bit of fun and very controllable which is amazing considering how cheap these are. And his one cost $40. 2 for $20? Shiiiit I'll lose interest after only a couple of times but who cares.

  • How far can these baby's go? I want to fly one a couple of blocks down the road with a spy camera and seee if I can catch anything interesting.

    • You won't see it beyond a few metres, even if it could carry a spycam (which I doubt).
Not to mention the slightest puff of wind and it's out of your control.

      • Worth it for lounge room flying fun, all the same.

    • I think you are wanting an AR Parrot Drone ;)

      • AR Parrot is still a toy with limited wifi range, not great for flying a few blocks away.

What he needs is a custom built quad using RF.

        • Sure but he's asking whether a $10 helicopter will do the trick so I'd say that is a little bit out of his expertise. Anyone can pick up an AR Drone and have some sneaky fun

    • Get one of these:

      • There is no end to government evil.

  • Ordered one also.

that inflated RRP, ha what a joke, 10 bucks tops for this piece of crap.

    • That's what they are selling for, each.

  • Thanks. I had a $25 Syma that stopped working after about a week; this will be much better than trying to obtain replacement parts and spending hours attempting to fix things.

    • agreed, that light-take one was a joke. First one i bought didn't work at all (wanted me to return - shipping was about the cost of the plane itself) so i just bought another one. That one barely lasted a few days

    • My Syma is still flying though I did have to replace the battery which I bought as a spare at the time of purchase.
The tendency is to fly them till the battery is flat, which is no good at all for LiPo's.
They don't last long doing this.

      • The teeth on the main gear has worn out. Looking at Youtube videos, it's a lot of effort to take it apart anf fix.

  • Couldn't resist… impulse buying.. thanks OP :)

  • I already bought a re-badged a $20 Syma S105G from Jaycar just before Christmas not sure why I want another 2 but couldn't resist a bargain. Thanks Op.

  • Nice got 2 bundles, birthday presents sorted :)

  • bought one thx…

  • Going by the reviews on You tube, the Swann Micro helicopters are very easy to fly. I've found some micro helicopters hard to keep stabilized, apparently they don't have that problem.

  • Out of stock :(

  • Sold out :(

  • If I follow the link it says 'In stock' is that right tho?

    Error at checkout then?

  • -5

    (SOLD OUT).

Pity, would have been a good birthday gift for my little one..

Perhaps if people weren't buying 2 or 3 at a time, or when not even needing them, just because there cheap,
there would probably be some left!!!!

    • Whenever I miss a bargain I kick myself for not getting in earlier, but each to their own.

    • maybe you are just trying to make a joke, but in case you are not, this is OZBARGAIN! we buy stuff we don't need! get used to it!

    • You snooze you lose.

  • -4

Was gonna this as a gift but was not sure then, came back now and it's out of stock, does op or owner know when stock will be restocked? Urgently need one now.

    • Sorry, but the final chopper has left and honestly, they'd be crazy to sell at that price again.

  • Exactly. Exact same thing I look at in local Dick Smith today is ….da.da.da…$69.99. $20 here delivered.

  • Is this similar?

    http://bit.ly/1iZnS1J

    • similar to discussion on earlier thread. this one on ebay is IR (infra red control). the one posted and in Dick Smith is 2.4GHz wireless

  • The cheapest i could find for this on ebay was $30, + $10 shipping for 1 unit from Melbourne. So we definitely got an Oz Bargain deal.

  • +1

    anyone got their helicopter yet?

    • +1

      My order status is "Processing".

      • Mine is "Processing" too…

        • Mine is "Processing" three

        • Mine is "Processing" four

        • Mine is "Processing" five

  • What about now? Anyone got their toys?

  • Yep, my two came today.

Easy to fly buy operating time sux big time.

    5 minutes at best :-(

  • Mine arrived today too. Pretty quick delivery.

Have already pulled the canopy off and circuit board says Syma S-36-R for those curious.

    • Did you order change from "processing"?

  • mine is processing

    • Yep still processing here as well :(

  • My helicopter came but only of the twin pack came? anyone else with this problem?

  • Hopefully their site is just shoddy cause mine is still 'processing'..

    • +5

Just logged in to my account and it still shows processing even though I received it last Thursday.

      • That's good to know - thanks ;)

  • Still waiting for mine.

  • I got an email response. Mine were apparently sent on Friday. If I knew there were going to use Toll, I would have had it delivered to my work…

"Hope you are well and thank you for your email. Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, I have been out of the office. Your order was sent on Friday (17th January 2014) using Toll Ipec. The tracking number for you to follow your order on its journey is: XXXXXXXXXXX. You should receive your order very soon. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me."

    • What's wrong with Toll? prefer they used Aust Post though. At least if I'm not home, I can go and pick it up at my local Aust Post shop.

  • My Email response was a little different. "We were inundated with Swannstore orders for the helicopters and are currently working through them as quickly as possible. We aim to have them all shipped very soon and your order with you later this week or at the latest early next week. We hope you enjoy your purchase and should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me."

  • I was charged but never received email confirmation, and I checked out as a guest so I don't even have an account to check my order status…
