    bought one a couple of weeks back, top stuff! you're getting about half the performance of a recent Intel Core i5 but with the battery life of a good netbook, i.e about 10 or 11 hours of wifi browsing, one reviewer said 12hr, the bad? although it's very light(~600g tablet only) it's all shiny plastic i.e scratches easy except for screen which is supposed to be Gorilla glass, oh and top part of touchpad has a dead zone, and battery charging is s-l-o-w but lots of tablets have slow charge times as well

    Bought T100 3 months back when it just launch to market from US, no complains at all! Love having a tablet with Win8 and traditional desktop

    For those who never used win8 before, strongly recommend to install StartMenu8 (freeware)

    Recently had one of these to setup for a friend, very impressive for the price.

    Whatever you do, don't enable drive encryption on this! Windows 8 allows you to easily encrypt the drive, but both times I tried it resulted in a corrupt install of Windows and I had to do a factory restore on it. Probably something to do with the cheap soldered on "SSD".

    Also there is a major firmware update which fixes a lot of major issues. You should do it as soon as you get it in case something goes wrong.

    IMO, metro internet explorer on a tablet is the pick for simple, easy to use internet. Same goes for the email app with the auto snapping and resizing of snaps being a great feature. The bonus is, being full windows, you can still use chrome etc (not touch friendly browsers yet) if you run into problems.

    Very tempted to upgrade my ME400 to this.

    I just got mine from officeworks Nowra. The school list 10% price match was automatically applied as opposed to the usual 5%. They had stock left too, the operator said they had a "few".

    Be careful guys. OW fivedock charged me $449.25 despite mentioning of myer price. Didn't give me 5‰ off when I checked my receipt. Now I have to go back and ask for the 5% off price match.

    For those who got 10% off, which school list has 10% off price match? Did you have to mention it?

      My conversation went something like this.
      note this was after I had showed them the Myer price.

      Me "Apparently it is also on the school list so people are getting 10% price beat as well"
      OW lady "well if it's in the system it will do it automatically"

      She proceeded to enter the Myer price then the system automatically deducted 10%.

    looks like most got the 10% off, considering they're giving a $45 discount on top of pricematch(total discount ~$124) i think OW have dropped the ball on this by not changing the price to match Myer as they usually do, or maybe "Barry" the intern who checks competitor prices at HO doesn't work on Sundays…
    ps if you bought a Surface RT i would sell it and walk, no wait, RUN and buy this before stock dries up!

    Has anyone tried streaming 1080p over wifi onto a TV via the micro-hdmi? Only found 1 youtube video but she didn't know how to extend the screen and only cloned it, so couldn't max out the reso on it.

    No luck getting 10% here only 5%.

    The lady said we had to have a school list to get the 10%.

    We also had to order ours in, so maybe that's why it didn't auto price match.

    went to Kogarah store this morning where their website says limited stock
    asked the staff for stock level then the guy said no, they only have a few faulty units there

    then went to Punchbowl store where their website says in stock
    asked the staff for stock level, the guy had a quick look then said yes
    then I asked if they do price match he replied yes and asked is it Myer and ozbargain?
    no need to explain then he look up Myer's site to confirm price
    no problem with price matching
    BUT when he went to check stock, he took more than 15min then came back and said they have no stock, they only have the faulty units…
    I was like #@$^@#!& and thought he must lied
    then he said he can transfer the unit from other store if I wish
    he called Campbelltown and they confirmed the stock and have arranged the transfer for me

    for those who can't find any stock, hope this help

          I have personally taken an Officeworks manager(ess) to task at the front of the store in the present of dozens of customers when she was trying to lie her way out of price matching MSY.

    They removed it in a later manufacturing run as it was confusing everyone who thought it was the windows button.

        We got one from Officeworks which was older stock than a second one purchased at JB. The JB unit had a later BIOS and drivers preinstalled, as well as the (confusing) Windows logo removed.

      Mine doesn't have the logo. I was wondering where it went since the reviews I saw had it. I'm glad I got a newer one though since the first run seemed to have a lot of problems.

        How do you find the build quality? Ours are a little creaky around the left side, right where you would hold it between palm and thumb (as if the plastic clips are .5mm short). A case will hide that fact though. The volume buttons are a little tappy too, not as tight as on higher-end tabs.

        Still great for the price though.

          Yeah pretty good. Don't have any of the issues you have with yours, but my keyboard doesn't sit completely flat on the table (bottom right corner doesn't touch). The touchpad is a bit crap though.

    If the Myer price match is a fail, Dick Smith currently have these for A$549 which is cheaper than the OW catalogue price (A$568.) So with 10% off the DS price, you should be able to pick one of these up for A$494 at the very least. Expiry 22/1.
