Yes you do get the credit. I signed up last week and I have $10 credit in my account.
According to their FAQ, if joined onlinem it takes 10 days for the membership card to be posted out. Would that mean one cannot access this deal in store, for example? Or would it be enough to simply quote membership number, for in-store purchases? Thanks in advance.
membership: buy membership first, activate email for $10 credit, go into store and give them your email address/name, tell them you want to use your credit for the purchase
best way to sign up as a member is on the spot in-store.. you get your card and $10 credit straight away then

If I have signed up in-store, how do I activate my membership online and obtain my $10 credit?
To activate your membership online, you need to keep an eye on your inbox for a welcome email which is sent to you as soon as you sign-up in-store. This email will have a link to the website (www.supercheapauto.com.au/clubplus/) as well as your temporary login details. Simply enter your temporary login details on this page – you will then need to update your details and set up your online account. As soon as you press submit, your membership will be activated and your $10 joining fee credit will be assigned to your card.
I think its $5 to join but you do receive the $10 credit
