I thought this might be worth posting since a brand new one costs $439 (although it has 3 years warranty and this one only 1 year) and there is a reasonable quantity of 21 available.

  • They're closed now, and no way to order one … mad rush of calls in the morning when they open?

    • what time should I set my alarm for?

      • This is problematic, because you can't buy them until the relevant manager wakes up, which is usually like 10 or 11am.

      • How do you find out what time it opens?

        • Purchase things in the past from them.

But it says you can just call sales. Why would you need to speak to a manager instead of a call centre?

      • How about you just sleep in? Obviously not enough of a bargain to upvote it. Is it really that hard to hit the + if you consider it a bargain? You were login afterall. Give the OP some love and get into the spirit of valentines ;)

Good monitor - I picked one up new last week from Dell. They're frequently on sale on their website if you wait out the price cycle. Commonly $307 delivered with three years warranty and next business day replacement warranty.

  • Damn I'll probably miss out :(

It's a great price for an entry tier 16:10 screen though.

  • -1

It's a monitor released in 2011. This is where a 3 year old monitor should be priced.

I think you have correlation and causation mixed up.

You don't need to call, I bought 3 U2414H from the outlet via their live chat. Great service.

    • How is that possible? Business hours start in 15mins time (8am EST). Live chat no dice for me

    • How did u manage that? the sales rep still has to wait to contact the area manager. I just tried via live chat. got disconnected on the phone.

  • Is this a good deal?
Full price is $439. Dell have regular 30% sales, so the price becomes $307.30.
So is two years of extra warranty worth the ~$80 saving? I'd say it'd only be worth $40 tops.
    So, it's really just a $40 saving…?

Just called, OzBargained and all 21 gone.

    • Just called, said they'll put one aside and call me at 1030am if they have one in stock.

      • Do you know the name of the person you spoke to? I'll try again.

          Name is Mike,
          Call 1800261699, ext 8632806.
          Just got my order confirmation.

Their online sales told me it was all sold so I called their sales team.

        • Thanks, uncojoe, called Mike, but said it was all gone. Maybe next week…

  • I think they were gone before this deal was posted, but Dell neglected to update their website. This happens.

Update: Just spoke to a helpful rep called Anne Marie who put through my order, wooot.

  • It makes me very happy to see all this love for 16:10 monitors. Sogood.gif This was a killer price, too.

If only it meant the creation of more (any!) 27" 2560x1600 monitors :(

Just got one too woohoo, chat with sale rep at 8:07 am and got a call with Sale Manager at 9:30 am and got one nice!. For anyone who want to do calibration before use for photo or any reason use this link for review and calibrate http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2412m.htm and this for ICC profiles http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm#d

im using their standard ICC right now, gives me better pic than the one that comes with the monitor. but thats without their gamma settings.

    • I purchased this monitor last week and have it up and running with my new build now – I do a bit of photography on the side and am interested in ensuring the panel is calibrated as best as possible. I’m not familiar with the profiles you have linked to – or how to implement / use them.

Can you point me in the right direction please? Thanks in advance.

Good price, but I’m happy with having paid $307 with the three-year warranty etc. If this outlet price includes that as well, then well done to those who secured them this way! Colour on this beast is gorgeous!

      • Follow this http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm#instal… if anything you dont know I'm happy to try my best.

        • Thanks - shall consider giving it a crack. I'm assuming that if things don't go to plan, or I prefer how it was all setup prior to the change, that I can roll back to the default?

PS - I'm not running dedicated graphics in my system - just Intel's integraded HD4000 or whatever it is. Is the process still applicable?

  • Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" Monitor - $227 Include Delivery + 1 Year Warranty @ Dell Outlet (NEW)
    …brand new one costs $439

    ???

    • +1

Brand new one is very often 30 percent off - just have to wait until it comes around again. I think it's already been at $307 on at least three occasions since December 2013 (and twice in 2014 already). Price usually comes down for a week or so at a time. Then goes back up. Includes three year replacement warranty in the price.

    • ???

Dell Outlet sells both NEW and REFURBISHED products. Outlet NEW products are usually cancelled/returned orders that are sent to the Outlet and re-sold at reduced prices and reduced warranty (normally 3 years for Premium monitors).

      • So we now have 'brand new' vs. 'new'?
        What about 'brand spanking new'?

  • all gone - does this deal in the outlet come around often?

    • +1

Not sure how often it comes up but your best bet would be to contact them and get a rep to order one for you the next time it's available. That way, you'll have one reserved for you before they even list it on the website.

I usually just email my rep to order what I need and he lets me know when it's ready (usually within 2 weeks)
