  • Aren't the evos being discontinued for the pros?

I dont know anything about the drive being superseeded by the Pros. The Pros were meant to just be a more premium product with a price to match.

Its almost about the time of the year that Samsung would be rolling out a new version, so I would expect to see something faster in a couple of months back up around the $850 mark.

I think EVO is more like a replacement for the original Samsung 840 series, whereas 840 PRO is an update to the older Samsung 830 series.

No - pros are faster but don't go up to 1tb. I wouldn't see them as a direct replacement.

    • Pros are MLC, EVOs are TLC.

MLC lasts longer and generally performs better, but for most applications it isn't a huge deal.

For anyone counting, the Crucial M500 is MLC too.

  • What does "single unit version" mean? As opposed to what?
