Asus R550CB-CJ189P i5 3337U GT740M 15.6" Touch Screen $799 (Pickup) at Umart

70

I have been on the hunt for a thin (hopefully light weight) laptop with enough power for light gaming. I came across this deal on umart which I ended up purchasing today. I think this is an older model (which can't be found on asus official website anymore) but seems to be working well so far. Although windows 8 takes some getting used to…. I think it weights around 2.1kgs (although I am not sure if that is with or without batteries).

    What's the battery life like?

  • is the hdd easily removed to swap for ssd on these? Doing it on an Acer Aspire v5 is a pain in the &$^%

  • Thanks. Answered my own question. What does up to i7 mean? Can be upgraded later if required?

  • I haven't had a chance to try the batteries yet. I am away from home ATM I will report back when I reunited with my laptop!

I think up to i7 meant they did have varieties if r550cb design sold with i7 processors. Not sure if it means they are upgradable… But probably no worth the effort unless if you can source the processor cheap…
