awesome deal on a brand new MBA 13. I got one for my partner few months ago when it was 900 something. a day to day user will never see difference between this and M4

    • +1

These displays do have PWM issues, if you're sensitive, but can be "fixed/reduced" with a better colour profile and "StillColor".

  • +1

    Are these grey imports?
Super tempting but do not need…

    • Apple will still repair it if it's brand new.

  • +1

Damn i just purchased the same one off then 2 days ago for my daughter for $1045

  • +15

From the website description: "This professionally refurbished unit"

    • +6

      no deal if it's refurbished

    • +1

From the product title "Apple (BRAND NEW) MacBook Air"

    • +1

      thanks - given

the same product on eBay from HT

and that title page info is

      Apple (BRAND NEW) MacBook Air 13.6in Space Grey M2 (8C CPU/8C GPU)/ 16GB/256GB SSD/30W Adapter

then it should override product description

Meet the MacBook Air, completely reimagined around the game-changing M2 chip. This model isn't just an update; it's a revolution in a strikingly thin and light package. This professionally refurbished unit comes with an upgraded 16GB of RAM, turning this ultra-portable laptop into a true multitasking powerhouse.

which is likely an error, else return/refund

      • To be fair, I'm not 100% sure it's the same stock, just noting that it's the same specs from the same retailer at a higher price, so it looks like a deal. The description is different of course :/.

  • Thanks just bought one for $889.16 including shipping, first time using Mac and finally the price is close to a windows laptop.

Warning: This is a refurb. NOT NEW.

Thank god I paid with PayPal.

  • ACCC!

    • +10

ACCC is useless most of time.
Some may neg me. Practical experience is that it only works if the seller has fear of it. If seller denies, ACCC has no authority, they only try to negotiate.

      • ACCC is a toothless tiger, waste of Taxpayers money funding that place

      • It's more effective in addressing systematic issues and issuing fines to large corporations who don't play by the rules.

        • Even then it's a stretch (look at car manufacturers,Bunnings, Coles etc) basically they will go for the biggest guy, where they can easy prove wrong doing and at the least amount of effort.
So if you put all the entities that are shafting the users and then rank them by the criteria above you can see why the likes of MSY get pinged but Ford don't make the cut. (Yet it will take MSY 1000's of transaction to make the same dent that Ford does with half a dozen dodgy gearboxes)
          Personal Opinion of course 😉

  • is it worth upgrade M1 to M2 ?
I've been using M1 air 3years from now

    • +4

no, but maybe a cheap way to refresh your warranty and battery

    • +1

I wouldn't bother. difference between M1 and M2 was minimal. the only upgrade would be to M4, but most users won't notice difference unless they edit videos and photos intensively and those users would get a Pro anyway

plus I actually liked the wedge body of original MBA M1, although now I actually feel like these 13 inch Airs look and feel more modern

    • As others have said it depends what you're doing. It's potentially worth it if your M1 has 8GB of RAM.

  • +2

The description says "refurbished", and all other MacBooks on their site are refurbs. I doubt it is brand new.

It's still a good price, but be aware what you are getting. Having "brand new" in the title probably gives you a good reason to return it if you decide you don't like it.

  • +2

Any possibility to price beat with office works, cheaper and brand new guaranteed.

    • Rang my local about 10 before closing and I wasn't even really in the market (bought an m4 for the missus a couple months back anyway) but I love a deal. Website said they had two in stock. Bloke on the phone said matching it shouldn't be a problem, then did a stock check and said they didn't have any. So idk. Maybe he lied. Maybe the stock check did. Either way, try your hand tomorrow, he didn't laugh at the 880 figure so I imagine your local is allowed to go to that price.

  • add another $200 and you get a guaranteed brand new Macbook air with the same specifications.

the deal happens quite often these days. the last deal happened less than 2 weeks ago. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/921744

    • I mean, that needed eBay plus and was over a hundred more…

  • +1

Well, I took the plunge and will try to return if it appears to be a refurbished one.

  • Bought one too. Afterwards, emailed them asking to cancel and refund if not a brand new unit

  • +1

It's a very good deal of brand new. Those buying, keep a screen shot of the Title. Also pay with PayPal, that way PayPal can help too if not brand new.

  • PO description shows as "(BRAND NEW) MacBook Air 13.6in Space Grey M2 (8C CPU/8C GPU)/16GB/256GB SSD/30W Adapter"
now i have too many macbook airs…

  • -1

are you the sockpuppet that got their last harris tech post deleted

  • The SSD is soldiered and not upgradeable?

    • +3

      Always is with Apple

      • +1

Nah, I upgraded my 2012 MBP drive ;) Actually I think that was the last version you could upgrade drive and ram, still going well today

        • 2016 and 2017 non Touch Bar MBP have upgradable ssd. They used a proprietary interface but it was still much cheaper than going though apple. Not a MacBook but the M4 Mac Mini also has an upgradable SSD.

  • +1

Is m1 still worth it ?

    • +3

This is m2, but other the age m1 is still very useable

  • +1

Someone will get HR warning message with this confusing message for sure…

  • +1

There’s no way to make a mistake in the title field. They probably just copied and pasted from the description field. :)

  • +1

Also on the page it said 'Our stock is a mix of Suppllier and HT Stock.' So you may get chance having a refurb done by some dodgy backyard work, they must be coming from everywhere …

  • I can’t see anything in the description stating it’s a refurbished unit? What am I missing.

    • Not looking hard enough:
This model isn't just an update; it's a revolution in a strikingly thin and light package. This professionally refurbished unit comes with an upgraded 16GB of RAM, turning this ultra-portable laptop into a true multitasking powerhouse.

    • A few lines down from where it says “product description”.

  • -3

    never ever for 256!

    • this is super underrated considering you can't upgrade storage easily

  • +2

There is no way this is brand new.

  • +1

    from my invoice:

    Qty. TechCode Name/Description Price
    1.0 K5112 (BRAND NEW) MacBook Air 13.6in Space Grey M2 (8C CPU/8C GPU)/ 16GB/256GB SSD/30W Adapter $ 880.00
    1.0 A0009 Freight Charge $ 23.63
    Total $ 903.63

    • How quick did you get your invoice? I paid 15 minutes ago and still no invoice. Thanks

      • Mine was pretty much instant

        • Thanks… Something amiss with mine…

          • @Bargain-er: No invoice here either. Placed order around 6pm. In my account just has 'payment captured' and a pdf of the order.

      • instant

  • I’m just worried this is still online. Previous deals sold out quite quickly. This is the cheapest and still going strong. 10+ available. hahaha

  • +1

Hope its honoured - gst refund = $800. Good price for M2

  • *Our stock is a mix of Suppllier [sic] and HT Stock.
All shipments are subject to our standard delivery policy.

They will be sending an order to the "supplier" for 500 units in the morning :-)

Nice, got my christmas gift sorted.

256gb in this day and age …

    • Tell that to old Cook

      • Cooked

  • Ok let's pretend this is new stock.

So how did they come across hundreds of units of this old model, when their business is primarily refurbished items?

  • Probably refurb when you look at their other listings of similar price lower specs:
