Almost $2k and its only an i5?
    Doesn't come with an LCD?

    • Price comparison inc…

      • I have built gaming desktop before, for $2k, I would be expecting to get latest gen i7.

This isn't some Harvey Norman i7 gaming special running the latest Intel HD5200 graphics… :s

That and CPU/RAM/GPU is expensive now for one reason or another.

      • parts alone are about 1800 so putting it together and warranty could be an OK deal. that being said, if you were wanting a 2k machine, you could build a better one your self.

H100i? R290 which is priced at a premium because of high demand that supply cannot meet? Phantom 530? Z87 Fatal1ty motherboard?

That's why it's almost $2k and no i7 :P on my mobile so no MSY shenanigans from me today.

Don't worry, at least it comes with a 'free game'.

A gaming PC doesn't need more than an i5.

I built my own with similar specs about 6 months ago and it was only $1000!

    • Holy hell, so much whining about the lack of an i7.

It's a gaming PC, not a video transcoding/rendering PC you fools. An i3 versus an i7 has a negligible impact on FPS in most games.

A majority of the cost of a build should go the GPU, and in this case, that's exactly what CPL have done, unlike so many other deceitful PC hardware retailers who advertise horribly unbalanced "gaming" PCs with ridiculous processors and needlessly expensive components elsewhere and then chuck in a woeful GTX 750 or a Radeon 7850 and call it a day.

before spending a lot with these guys, might be good to read about their behaviour:

If it is just a simple part you may be fine but if they put it together and it doesn't work, will they take the whole theing back?

Is the warranty 12 month return to base (CPL) at their expense for the whole computer if things don't work? Bit unclear to me.

    Be careful!

    • Thanks. had a feeling that the price wasn't heavily discounted.

In all fairness, this is the first time I have seen a CPL "bargain" where they were off on their price and parts. Usually its at least $100 cheaper.

Thank you for sourcing all of the information for lazy people like myself.

Good luck finding stock at MSY for many of those though.

If plumbers assembled computers and sold them this would cost three times as much.

  • Not cheap and no warranty included (from experience)

  • Yeah they're really getting beaten up over at whirlpool…
