Take train to Broadmeadows and then bus to airport - $5 or so

  • Not too bad for the extra perks

  • Do you go from SE suburbs direct to airport?

    • Yes, we do. There is a price for almost every suburb to airport on our website.
      Thanks

  • This is a very cheap price compared to my vha service. But you need to mention cab charge costs as many of us needing to travel for work use that. Just FYI. I'm hesitant to try your service because of 30min restrictions and extra $5 cost on pickup, every other vha service I've used charges me the same price and restrictions are not applicable because the driver would organise to be at airport based upon arrival time of flight. (Adjusts to delays etc.) but $60 is very cheap!

    • Melbourne airport parking is $6 for 29 minutes and $14 for 59 minutes, so the restriction. Some of our regular customers do organize to be picked up from 1 min. Pick up area but we think this is the most convenient pick up option especially if you have luggage.
Yes, cabcharge does incur 10% surcharge payable to cabcharge.

      • We both know that is not the VHA parking rate!

        • +1

VHA parking is still $4 and $8 for 29 and 59 minutes if driver has made the parking and LDA card. Lot of drivers use their credit cards hence the mention of normal rates.

        • Yes but most of your drivers park at the McDonalds / BP petrol station opposite the airport. They don't actually pay for parking. I think the restrictions are just wrong.

      • Yes, cabcharge does incur 10% surcharge payable to cabcharge.

10% for hire cars, now 5% for taxicabs as of 1st february :)

  • No specials for f1 weekend? ;-)

  • How does this work OP

Toorak to Airport = 33km + City Link road tolls $88

Caroline Springs to Airport = 24km & no road tolls $90

Do you charge extra for pick up in the west?

    • That's according to the industry's demand and supply and proximity to the city. It's much easier to get you a car asap if you are in toorak than most western suburbs. Prices are based on total time spent on booking, kms and time spent towards Pick up address. In this case, time towards pick up address from city is lot more than toorak and hence a different price structure.

      • So is the 'special price' from Airport to Toorak is $88?

    • +2

Or in other words nobody else out is willing to spash on a limo over a taxi to just get around day to day so you need to pay both ways, wheras in Toorak people will be constantly grabbing one into the city etc for appointments rather than parking and walking or shudder public transport. For gods sake dont tell them they are catering to plebs like US lol.

  • +6

+1 for giving other possible options and being honest

  • Rep has a good attitude even when getting grilled. +1 rep

  • Zero difference between this service and getting a Caprice or Fairlane normal taxi (green top tend to be in better condition).

    • Do the Melbourne Caprice/Fairlane taxi's meet you inside the Terminal and give you a guaranteed pickup time from your house/work?
A lot of my clients like the unmarked Caprice for airport transfers as it is not as obvious to every druggie driving by that you are heading off to the airport.

      • Well, that's true. I should have clarified that I meant there's no difference in the actual vehicle used. Incidentally, none of these sedans can fit 3 large suitcases in the boot (unlike in America, where a Town Car or Crown Vic boot can easily swallow 3 cases), so if you're a big family or travel heavy, often a station wagon taxi can be the better option.

  • Good rate, my cheapest is $77 here in Perth. My Drivers won't do jobs any cheaper than that.
(I like how the website drops a Blacklane Limousines ad on the post… Get a quote from Blacklane and see how it compares to this $60 rate…. Make sure you are sitting down though.)

  • $65 - Airport to CBD incl. 30 minutes Domestic Parking

so save $6 as per http://vhasilverservice.com.au/faqs/terms-conditions

what about international for which you normally charge $15?

    Uber Reference:
    $84 Cbd- airport

    it's actually $80 (-$40 free credit = $40 outlay) :)

btw do you actually offer a service at normal taxi tariffs? if not then i suggest removing any reference to taxis from your website
