  • While its a little more expensive then other places, its a bargain if you want the PS3

  • -1

Haven't looked at details but only a good deal if prices are negotitable. Otherwise the Sony HO offer is much better because the retailer doesn't care about the loss taken on the PS3

  • Do you get a PS3 on the spot?
or do you have to reimburse it from sony?

  • @lobbie

exactly, i dun trust reimburse. If you take home the PS3 on the spot, then i m sold.

    Also, 80gb huh?

    • +1

yes you will take the ps3 home with you! it will be given to you on the spot with the purchase of your tv!

  • 80gb is the only current model in Aus. Its the same specs as the 40gb but with a larger hdd.

I've heard that the ps3 is on the spot, no reimbursement, but it would be good if someone can verify that.

    • thanks for clearing that out….already have a 60gb but I am still tempted to get another one…..:)

      • +1

just get another hdd and replace it
lots of guides online on how to do it

    • The 80gb Also comes with a dualshock 3 controller instead of the sixaxis controller, which means it basically allows for vibration capabilities. Not a big deal though, although the controller is worth more.

    • Are you sure about that the 160GB model has been out for a while in Australia, though yes it's only the 80GB model they are giving away.

      • Some places may have imported it but its a limited edition euro/usa release, at least for now. Both static-ice and shopbot don't have it listed and I haven't seen it in any of the big chains.

  • I think this is a JBHifi Promotion and not of Sony as I dont see the same on Harvey Norman or Sony Websites. Plus this is a short term promotion. Sony usually have it for a month at least.

Maybe this is a way for Sony to test the waters if they should do the same promotion the third time…

    • this is just for jbhifi.. as it is advertised all over their website 'jbhifi only'
wat i was wondering is if the price is competitive.

  • Anybody visited JB to see what sorta prices they could get for a 40" Bravia?

    • Just got back from JB, saw the 40" V series (cheapest of the Bravia range) for $2091, same as what they advertised on their site. However, it has a line across it which means you can bargain and have it lower than the price. Maybe $1899??

I so wanted to get it, only if they have something like 24 mths interest free..

  • very tempting if i could get interest free

  • yes you can get your tv on current interest free offers: http://www.jbhifi.com.au/terms-conditions

  • glad so many ppl like this deal. It's my first post :)

  • How good is the V series? and how cheap can you get it for?

  • +1

Anyone knows what the refresh rate is for the V series? I can't find it on the Sony website.

    • There's no mention anywhere that it's 100Mhz or above, so i leads me to believe it's under 100Mhz. Probably 75Mhz.

Anybody bought this item, and got a better price than $2100?

      • V series is 50hz only, and HN wont price match. They have their own bundle, BDP-550 Bluray player is their bonus. JB wouldn't let me bargain. Meh.

        Anyone had any luck bargaining?

        • Note Z Series 4500 Models are being phased out and replaced by the 5500 from July.

Bought a 52Z5500 today @ JB for 5195, wouldnt budge on price @ all, but managed to get free delivery. So that's about as good as u're gonna get.

I had a look @ Hardly Normal, Retrovision, Good Guys etc, JB's offer with the free PS3 ends up being about 100 bux better than the rest.

  • does any one know if the deal will return?
when i found out it was too late :(

    • Too late. Might wait for Wednesday. Might be another deal go live

    • offer has come around during xmas for 2yrs in a row now
3rd time lucky for you waahly?

  • The 40" V Series itself was only going for app $1500 at Sony last year so I reckon you don't save that much if they won't budge on $2091…

    EDIT: http://upload.ozbargain.com/2008/12/28/1205_dsc03076.jpg

    • That's not the same model though, this one's the KDL40V5500 i believe, whereas your one is the older KDL40V4000.

  • It's a good deal. Just wish I could afford it.. :p
