I know nothing about drills but my husband wants to get a makita drill thats double the price.

Not an expert but this is bosch green drill which is more for home use while makita is proper tradesman tool. Bosch also has blue tools which are more expensive and are for tradies
ditto whats already been said, if the man wants makita the man will receive only makita… pretty sure theres a law that states that with threat of legal sanctions if disobeyed.
these cheap bosch are "toys" in comparison to the makita range at the $300-$400 price point.tho you may want to talk him into at least having a look at the Milwaukee range. i used to be a huge makita fan but the last drill i got from them about 5? years ago was honestly junk compared to there much older stuff. i picked up a $200 Milwaukee at a sale a year or 2 ago and its by far the better product, theres also one around the $400-500 mark thats better again but wasnt in my price range at the time.
