I think it's safe to say that the price will stay the same for much longer than 3 months.
Especially when they are dominating sales.
Typically price drops don't come in for at least a year, this is an anomaly for sure, but they wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't economically feasible so who knows!

I'm sure I will (I have a Vita too). I was delaying buying a PS4 as I wanted to finish my select backlog of PS3 games before upgrading to the new system. But considering I won't have (m)any games for PS4 until later this year (when games like Driveclub & The Order are released).

Wow, that's exactly what happened to me too. I hadn't touched my 120GB Slim PS3 in like 1 or 2 years, I started it up to play last of us and the laser was dead even without use, so I had to waste money on a super slim :( I sure hope the PS4's laser doesn't burn out like this even when hardly used.
i've had my ps3 for now going on 5 years, i play all my dvd and blue ray's through it (and when i say all my i mean my 4 and 2 years olds elmo and wiggles dvd's) not a single issue.. knock on wood. sorry to hear you guys had problems.. :(

The thing is neither of these new generation console flagships is selling very well when compared with previous generations of flagship consoles.
