  • any good on iPad 2?

  • +2

Only Apple could justify selling a 3 year old device for the same price as a current Android device.

    • -7

Unlike the iPad 2, Android doesn't run the world's most advanced mobile OS

      • +4

I wonder for how much longer it will be supported by new iOS release. Ipad 2 is already 3 years old now.

      • Fandroids took my neg bait…

Why do you feel compelled to read Apple deals?
        (that's more bait)

  • +1

While $388 is an okay price (wouldn't say it's a deal) - take note that this model is over 3 years old and will probably be shunted by Apple in the next iteration of the iOS operating system.

  • +1

similar to bags, a Gucci always holds its value for a while …

    • +1

a gucci bag will also run ios7 or future ios faster

      • Unlike a iphone 4 you mean that works like shit with the latest ios?

  • +2

Its not actually a $50 Gift Card from what I read. Its only a discount voucher "up to value of $50"

    From the T&C's:

Purchase any selected iPad and receive a Bonus JB Hi-Fi Discount Voucher up to $50. Discount Voucher valid for 25% off selected product purchases up to $200. Selected products include: DVDs, Blu-ray, CDs, Headphones, Portable speakers & iPod Docks.

  • Problem is, Apple are taking advantage of this stupid zombie community of iPhone and iPad lovers that line up in the cold for the release.
As the demand increases, so does that cost.

Frankly, I don't see the iPhone 4 or 5 or whatever having a rrp of $999+
I recently bought an iPhone 4 (not 4s) from BigW and paid $420. Problem is my little sister insisted as a present.

Once these freak-love idiots stop, and just purchase the Apple Products for functionality not 'stupid-love' then the price will drop.

Hence going back to this deal, you're seeing a 3-year old device at almost $400.

When the major SSL bug was found lurking in IOS 7 MAJOR BUG. it was a total security flaw which potentially allowed the hijack of many accounts, yet what impact did this have on Apple? nothing
Had it been for Nokia or Samsung, their whole business will have grinded to a halt.
    Why?
Because Apple feed of these stupid morons that live-breath-eat iPhone/iPad to the extent of anything.

stupid zombie community of iPhone and iPad lovers
Because Apple feed of these stupid morons that live-breath-eat iPhone/iPad to the extent of anything.

Must be awesome to be so superior to all those stupid morons.

      • Including his own sister it seems…

Pretty ironic rant coming from someone that just purchased an iPhone for a family member.

        • -2

          You guys must be daft

Im not an iPhone hater…I don't hate the device per se'

Im not hating the casual buyers like my sister, she obviously didnt line up in the cold about it, and given its 4 generations behind, you can really sense her excitement?

          Mod: Edited

Im saying, once the big hoard of zombies stop lining up for the launch, and Apple sees a dis-interest globally, then prices will definitely come down to compete with others. Thats the point.

        • +1

I think you'll find that those 'casual buyers' far out number the small minority of people that are lining up on launch day to buy an iPhone and likely play a larger role in Apple being able to charge what it does for a phone than a handful of day one upgraders.

If it was the day one buyers that were settng the price, then Apple would have to decrease the prices over time like other manufacturers often do. The fact of the matter is there are a lot of people willing to pay the same asking price (or very close to) 6 or 9 months after the phone is released, regardless of whether it is expensive compared to the competition or not.

I fail to see why anyone would really care about when and how someone else chooses to buy a phone too.

        • You have a quality product….you charge what the market will bare. This is a good thing, and is why we don't have to drive russian cars.

    • Frankly, I don't see the iPhone 4 or 5 or whatever having a rrp of $999+

      I got a 64Gb 5S for about half that…

  • Do they have any good deals on the iPhone 3G ?? I'm looking at downgrading soon…

PLEASE there must not be a war for consuming choices, if you can afford, go for it, if not, don't cry. I guess what I just mentioned is clear enough? Right?

    • Man, NFI what you're saying.

    • it's not whether or not you can afford it. it's whether or not these big tech companies have unfair pricing models and are ripping consumers off. When you buy an apple product you may get a better experience but others also say otherwise. It's all opinion really, whether you can afford it or not like i said is pretty irrelevant.

      • do you think Gucci and LV apply 'fair price', no one think so, it's the brand, that's what people pay for, unless they are forced to BUY an Apple's product or THEY WILL KILL you, then it's another story

        • +2

          don't drink and post bargains…

    • +1

Great observation: all non-Apple users are crying.

    • don't post a deal for android/apple deal if you don't want a back and forth/slight fanboy debate, it's just inevitable

  • Limited Time Only. Voucher expires 28th February 2014. Voucher valid for one sale only and must be surrendered upon use.

    UP to $50?
    selected products?

  • The iPhone 5S 64GB was released 6 months ago in Sep 13
    The current price is $1,129.00

The jist of this, isnt about affordability. 90% of people with this iPhone all got it on a contract and dont really sum it up well that they paid over $1,000 for a handset.

This isn't about iPhone is better than Samsung, HTC etc… it's subjective.

This is about the pricing of this product is driven by such high demand by Monkeys. Monkeys that will camp outside the shop like dogs for 48hrs, the 1,000 stong line of people waiting.
Stop the stupid ques and I guarantee the price will go back to the standard worthy price of this phone which should exceed $600

  • I love this debate when an iPad 2 comes up on sale! Firstly; No, I don't think it's a bargain, and I'd never buy one for that sort of money!
But most importantly, for all those that continue saying that this thing is 3+ years old and discontinued… IT'S NOT! Infact, this model iPad 2 was actually released after Apple released the iPad 3! And unlike the 3, it is still in production today!!!
If you want to take the time to read some specs, here you go… EveryMac

    • but the 3rd gen has retina display?

    • You can put money on it being the next in line to become unsupported in future ios updates.

    • +1

The fact that the iPad 2 still runs all the latest apps makes it every bit relevant to me. Plus, developers would be fools to exclude 50%* of their potential buyers by developing for iPad 3 or greater.

*40% of statistics are made up on the spot

    • +1

Like I said… I think it's ludicrous and I wouldn't buy one, but I just wanted to, once again, bring this this up for the people that keep making incorrect statements about it!
