  It was $664 between last April and last October, and then price raised to $100 more even during a sale.

    My guess is that is because of the falling Australian dollar.

      Australian dollar has fallen less than 10%, Dell's (sale) price increase is more than 15%. So, difference, I suspect is just corporate greed.
      It's a damn good monitor, but with higher ppi creeping in into laptops and tablets and being appreciated, 4K is the future.

  The $664 one you are talking is the DEll U2713HM, it's a different model.

    No. Those were U2713H. U2713HM are usually $560-$600 during sales.
