    These are awesome cameras made by Hikvision, which is a lot different to the regular Swann cameras. From memory, these were selling at Costco for $999 when they first came out so this is quite a good price for 4 decent cameras and a DVR.

    A word of advice for people who want to use the android app, don't use the one from Swann, use the iVMS-4500 app by Hikvision.

    When oh when will these kits change over to IP based technology?! Apart from draining the last of the global warehouses of stock I don't understand why they can't just sell kits of IP cameras to be monitored/recorded via PC. If the user wants a dedicated monitoring/recording device then a cheap $100 2nd-hand PC will do perfectly! Is it purely down to the potential unreliability of an Operating System like Windows? Surely not.

      These are better than ip camera since it supports power over network cable. You don't need power pack for each camera.

        Hmm, I don't think that's an issue anymore either as most IP cameras are already POE capable.
