  • Not sure if this is worth it considering Samsung 840 EVO 120 has been on sale for $99 shipped many times in the past.

        A review
        http://www.kitguru.net/components/ssd-drives/zardon/adata-pr…

ADATA doesn't have a very good track record. If you're buying a minor branded SSD, you're essentially taking a gamble with reliability and warranty/customer service. For example, how closely does ADATA monitor product faults and release firmware updates for their SSDs.

      • But it's not $20 less. Add on $9 for metro shipping and you're looking at only $10 difference.

  • Good price, but I don't know if I should take the risk.

  • I personally wouldn't risk it, especially considering the minor differences in price between this and a much more reliable SSD. Is $20 (if not less) worth the headaches caused by a drive failure? Never mind warranty and such.

  • ADATA is not a bad brand as they make good memory cards, they are just not very well known in the SSD market.
And they are not very big here in Australia either, but quality wise I don't think there's much to worry about, there's nothing worse than OCZ yet.

    • there's nothing worse than OCZ yet.

I've been running an OCZ Vertex 2 for almost 2 years now and have not had a problem.

    • Running OCZ Revo drive Pcie card SSD and it is outstanding.

      • I'm talking about the failure rate, the failure rate of OCZ has always been the highest, not the performance.
and because there's still only 3% failure rate… it's probably quite normal that yours is no problem at all.
SSDs are quite durable after all.

one thing I look for is a good software for monitoring the drive and performing trim etc. For that reason the intel and samsungs have been my favourites.

  • Another vote for a Samsung here. I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up gamble with my SSD choice yet

  • Samsung ftw. I purchased Adata products b4. Good cheap brand but quality is mediocre in certain departments. Pass.
