  • Awesome. Are there any limits? I might get a few this time.

    • order away blinky :)

  • is this gold plated?

    • yep i need to change the picture

    • People with equipment with tin-plated connectors should take note:

On the subject of gold plated contacts: They don't do any good unless they're interfaced with gold plated connectors. In fact, the mating of dissimilar metals is actually more prone to corrosion than if both connectors were tin plated (your typical silver colored connector.)

Hmmm, your site seems to be playing up.

I went to buy 2 cables and it shows that I'm already logged in as David Vong (VIC) and it shows all of his mailing details… I'm using a private computer in NSW… might want to look in to this.

    • random ninja can you email me

      • I clicked on your link a few more times and it came up one more time with another person's details, but it looks like it's ok now.

        • This happened to me. I logged off Oznetics then logged in again and search for the cable.

          • @naira: me too…..I was initially logged in as someone else, but didn't see any personal details, just log-in name. When I moved from the HDMI cable page, it seemed to fix itself…..

  • OZNETiCS. You should put the offer down till you fix the website. This is a serious privacy breach and you can easily get into trouble because of that.

so I advice you to take your site down. fix it, then resubmit your offer.

  • I just tried it out and it had placed 3 cables in my cart and the address was:
    F**** M*******
    ********** ** ********, **********, *** ***** ***
    East Perth, 6004
    WA, Australia

    So its not fixed yet.

  • I had no problems ordering, just logged in normally and everything was all good, thanks.

  • bashar20, I strongly suggest you remove the customer's name from your post (or just leave the initials).

  • Good on you OZNETiCS for taking the site down to fix it.

Guys, am voting this now after he did the right thing.
Btw the cables are good. I bought one for $5 last time. These are gold plated for $6 which is even better I assume.

    • These are gold plated for $6 which is even better I assume.

Good when paired with gold-plated connectors - see my previous comment.

  • Checked the bandwidth and disk allocations and everything seems to be Ok. This is the first time this has happened and is a bit puzzling

    • OZNETiCS. well it happened to me without even logging in. I just added to cart (for testing purposes) and found an order not belonging to me as mentioned above. seems its picking up the details (cart + address) of the last order placed.
I suggest you clear your cookies and test it yourself. just click on ozbargain link and choose add to cart without logging in. (am just trying to help here)

    • if it helps…..I was on home pc….using firefox, and came direct from the above ozbargain link. I hadn't logged in (not registered yet), and it came up showing me logged in as someone else.

      • am using IE8 and I dont think its browser related.

  • also occurred however it would only show the name of the person however no details would show

  • Can some1 confirm if this is the type of cable I need to connect a Full HD LCD TV to a computer so that I can use it as a monitor?

    • Only if your computer has an HDMI port.

  • I bought one cable before the site went under maintenance. I logged in with my account and could see my details. Should there be any problems with my order or details?

    • Ideally your order should be there. Your details should be safe once OZNETiCS fixes it and put it up again.

  • we do not store any bank or paypal details. We dont have a cache on our site so i am stumped

    • could be something wrong with ur middle tier not clearing out the traffic.
Its not a database issue. as I didnt even try to log in using my account.

  • All good now so order away

    • Just to confirm retested and its all good.

OZNETiCS, your webpage is not SSL secured when creating a new account (and I assume at any other stage of the order process). This coupled with peoples information showing up incorrectly concerns me to the point of not purchasing anything from your website. You really need to take due care when obtaining personal details for customers because they can be so easily used to defraud people.

I knew my mistake earlier on and I have not had a problem before. The only information stored on my records is name and address details and for those earlier posts, I dont think they were able to change any details. If it concerns you that much, then the solution is simple :)

        Have a great day

        • +3

I really don't think that's the right attitude.

"I have not had a problem before." is not something I'd like to hear from a merchant. By the time SOMETHING becomes a problem it's often too late.

Saying “If it concerns you that much, then the solution is simple” also shows that you don’t care about your customers.

          • @fufufu: Not only can I change the address details, I can see and change the phone number and have access to any comments left during the checkout process or from the merchant. You can also see any previous order. Not really the best !!

          • @fufufu: Agreed!

Oh and not at all keen on exposing critical personal information for a $5.95 cable

            • -1

@McLarenHonda: um how is it critical info? the info is available in the white pages.

i mean who actually gives a REAL tele no? haha!

              • +2

@neosin: if i see your name/address/number knowing that u've got a HDMI cable
i can be quite sure that u've got a decent rig with a HD tv of some sort and some expensive equipment capable of playing HD audio/video that'll sell quite well on ebay ;)

            • @McLarenHonda: Yes, it's not actually that extremely cheap either.

  • "Integrated DVI/ HDMI interface with HDCP"

That's what my motherboard (GA-MA78GM-US2H) specs say… so not sure if that means it has a HDMI port or not.

    • unless i am wrong but I see a hdmi port near the dvi port

    • You can see the GA-MA78GM-US2H's ports on the Gigabyte website. There is an HDMI port next to the DVI (white) port.

      Specifications:

      Back Panel Connectors

      1 x HDMI port(Note 4)

(Note 4) Simultaneous output for DVI-D and HDMI is not supported.

  • look at it. does it have a port like this:
    http://www.dvdcity.com/graphics/terminals/hdmi_port.jpg

  • There are 2 ports that look similar to that. 1 has my monitor conected at the moment and the other 1 that is not being used seems to be bigger. I am not sure which was is VGA or HDMI or DVI or whatever. very confusing

  • Yeah I currently have my monitor connected to the VGA port…

  • Thanks. Just ordered one.

  • Ozneticks: Thanks order two already. Are these ship in one postage or separately?

    • HI surat

      separately mate

      • Thanks, I thought if combine save postage cost for you but up to you as long as both of them arrive. Thanks.

  • Hi OZNETiCS,
I am one of your "old" customers (bought in Jan 2009).
Are there any offers on 2.5m Braided HDMI Cable as well? This is currently listed at $24.00
If I remember, I got it in a promotion for $21.00 + FREE shipping.
Any more promotions similar to this coming up? $20.00 maybe?
Really LOVED the quality- as good if not better than the other cables that I bought (Belkin PureAV and a Sony cable), for which I paid a fortune.

    • send me an email varunpant. Im sure we can work something out

  • is there still stock left?

    • yep sure is

  • How are you even turning over a profit with free shipping on these? Which courier service are you using :)

    • +2

We do our best to offer a genuine bargain after the great suucess last time. We will send them via Aust Post pais.
