Lots of Harvey Normans closing lately. Looks like the curse of ozbargainers is finally taking its toll.

    • Lots?

    • If that is true, professionals everywhere rejoice…

  • Retina Minis too!

    • So, I had one on reserve and when I turned up I was told they were all labelled incorrectly and no retina ipad minis in store….mmmm suss

  • No Retina Mini or Air in Stock anymore

I am pretty sure that they remove the Retina Mini and Air before putting up this sign. I saw them did it

Do they did it, you sure?

Saw a guy filling all the new ipad models into boxes and then moved away.

Heard a staff told a customer that "There will not be discount on those, if we cannot sell them, Apple wlll get them back. It is Apple's policy to protect the price". I wasn't paying much notice as I only walked past and I know that "if there is discount, they wouldn't be there where I can see them".

I am sure I didn't see this sign when I was there at lunchtime around 1pm

Dw sioul, I saw the exact same thing yesterday - musta been there same time. When I went back at 3 the 20% off sign was up and there was no air or retina mini. Asked the bloke and he said oh those sold out quick as soon as we put the sign up. Told him what I saw earlier and he said ok you got me, we can't sell those at 20% off, they'll go back to apple or another hn store.

        • Great work for the intelligence! Is this type of policy similar to price fixing?

        • Thanks. That particular act was not price fixing, taking into account the circumstances. The interpretation of law around what constitutes price fixing in Australia is actually a good deal more complex than commonly thought.

  • If anyone goes down can you please check if they have the $5 GT6 as per deal yesterday

    Thank You! :)

    • Not much stuffs left in the shop, half of the shop is emptied and "yellow taped" with no access.

i didn't see any games left

      • awww, shame. Thanks though :)

I went in at the start of the week and again today..

Anything decent is packed up and shipped away, all that was left was stuff that isn't worth the money or decent items that are marked down to online prices.

    • +1

Probably shipped to another HN store.

      • i can confirm that that seems to be the go as when one of the WA stores closed last year the computer guys were making trips to get stock and bringing it back to the store where i worked

  • Hi Aaron!!!

I paid for an ipad 4 at that Martin Pl store and was misleadingly given the old ipad 3…never buying from there again.

    • +1

Well you'll never have the opportunity too, they're closing down on 5 April. If you have a prob contact their head office.

      • That was a while ago and was quickly cleared up (refunded, then bought from Myer).
Suppose you have another electronic device from that store and it breaks down within the warranty period. Would it be really difficult to claim warranty after the store has closed down?

        • +1

Nah, you have the invoice so that's fine. If any problems I would contact the manufacturer direct to see what they can do.

Even if outside the warranty period, depending on problem and length of time outside warranty, most manufacturers are willing to help out these days thanks to the new ACL. That's not to say you won't have to spend some time chasing up/calling/emailing, but provided you are polite but firm with your request for a repair/replacement, in all likely hood you will get it.

The other option, if still within the warranty period, is to contact HN head office. Even though individual stores are franchised they are still the same company. As a large collective with big buying power they have good relations with manufacturers/distributors and may be in a better position to push through that repair/replacement for you.

  • what sort of things are left?
