    since the box has the IMEI printed, everyone can copy it down but I think it is not the reason as LG would have to check with store info,which would be submitted to them when phone sold to a customer. In your case, you first need to make sure the salesperson didnt give you the returned one from previous owner who decided to bring it back to JB, or the one you got is actually a display model which is never valid. My advice to you is bring it back to JB where you got it and tell them that you cannot claim the cashback from LG, ask to have another one or a full refund then shop from somewhere else, you still have time for this promotion mate

      Thanks for the reply op, called Lg this morning they said several other ppl also called to report this issues, so seemed like the problem on their side. Good thing is don't have to go all the way to jb hi fi again.:)

    I am on the same situation, IMEI invalid/used.
    Bought it from JB HiFi Osborne Park on 4th April afternoon.
    Send an email to LG that night, got a "donotreply" email next day asking me contact 1300138540 as they are their Promotions team. Automated message to press a number…
    Press 1 for Fridge..
    Press 2 for TV …
    Press 3 for Blueray…
    Press 4 for Vacuum…
    Press 5 for Aircon..
    Press 6 for Washing machine…
    Press 7 for Microwave…
    AND
    Press 8 for Dishwasher..

    Puzzled, I press 2 and talked to a lady who said she cannot help as they don't handle mobile phone promotions and asked me to got to www.LG.com.au/support to contact..

    Glad to hear I am not the only one having this issue, so would you guys care to tell which JBHiFi you guys bought it from just to rule out any foul play…

      got the exactly the same thing as you. bought it in JB HI FI Parramatta. called LG general support on that day, lady told me to call their promotion team on Monday. so called in today and pressed 1 for fridge, be told to send them a online query as they don't handle this on the phone. frustrating. On the sidenote however, have you activated you Phone before you try to claim the cash back? I haven't because I don't have a micro sim card and waiting to be sent from Vodafone. I am guessing may be the invalid Imei has sth to do with it

    Bought the G2 just before the promotion, LG refused to cash back. Asked me to talk to JB hifi directly.

    If I am right, other firms will refund if you purchased the product within certain period of time before price reduction.

    Just got one from Allphones:
    $499 for 16gb model with the smart case included in box. It was advertised online for 529 but in store listed as 499. Nowhere else around me had stock except HN who refused to match 499.

    Ive just started using it, but am glad i got it so far. Thanks OP.

    And remember Allphones seems like a good option too people.
