  • +1

useless daylight saving only effect is create confusion which is lost of productivity

    • +8

      Plus it fades your curtains.

      • +2

it Also seems to have a deleterious effect of grammar punctuation?

    • Maybe we should add one hour every 2 months, instead of a leap year.

  • +25

This isn't free! We have to repay it later in the year =_=

    • +3

Not really, you can migrate elsewhere where it will be winter during our summer. Rinse and repay to add 2 hours to your life every year!

      • +5

But if you migrate elsewhere, it will be reflected in the time zone change, so you will lose the hour anyway.

  • +2

    AHAHAHA classic

  • +6

Originally thought it was a good deal, until I realised we got shafted 6 months ago and will be again in 6 months time.

    Positive vote revoked.

  • I COMPLETELY FORGOT UNTIL NOW HELLL YEAHHH

  • +1

Interesting. There doesn't seem to be an expiry date or a limit on the amount of times you can redeem this offer.

So I'm going out on the beer all day tomorrow, redeem a dozen hours on Sunday night and still be fresh and sober for work on Monday! My boss is gonna think I'm awesome!

  • +1

Seems for the current DST system in place we can thank John Leslie Steer (ignoring Benjamin Franklin and then the world wars).

Tasmanian State Liberal Member for Bass, John Leslie Steer, MHA, made a protracted effort to reintroduce the idea via several private bills in Parliament. The Tasmanian Government, however, only accepted the idea because of the 1967 drought, which not least effected hydro-electricity generation. It was, therefore, at first only a temporary measure until it was made permanent in 1970.

Like most good deals i dont think this one is actually going to work up here in Darwin.

Surely they will run out of stock - this has got to be some kind of bait and switch.

    • Switch to what?

      • Moving clock back for summer?
I don't know, I didn't think it through that far!

  • +3

  • +1

thank god for this deal…. ive been dealing with trying to stop my curtains fading for months. dosnt the government realise with this extra hour of sun light ever day for months my curtains pay the price?

    not happy…

  • +4

Fraking WA never has any stock!

  • +1

Surprised no ones done an MSY price comparison yet

  • +1

Working night shift…1 extra hour of work, unpaid :-(

    • why unpaid? I worked nightshift…Ill make damn sure I get paid for it. I dont owe anyone an hour om my time for free ;)

      • +3

Interestingly, in the absence of a specific provision in the applicable modern award, enterprise agreement or company policy, you are only required to pay the employee eight hours pay for nine hours worked.

When the clock is put back one hour at 3am on 6 April, if an employee works nine hours, you are only obligated to pay them for eight hours. This is backed up by precedents from industrial tribunals; see: Re Daylight Saving and Shift Work (1971) AR (NSW) 887

        http://www.workplaceinfo.com.au/payroll/hours-of-work/shift-…

        • Do shift workers get extra pay when the clocks are put forward in October?

  • +4

    Pleas mark as expired

  • I got up at 10.00am today, which was actually 9.00am…never been awake this early on a sunday before (without having an appointment to attend)…only sad thing now is that it'll be dark before I get out of work every day now :(

  • +3

    15 million claimed!
    Ozbargained!

  • +1

I've heard that they won't honour this deal long-term and will demand we return the free item in six months time.

    What a rort :(

  • NT is actually not included, but ACT is.

    • +2

      We're always forgotten anyway.

      :(

  • we lost an hour last year so we are just getting it back really, so NO DEAL!

  • +1

now I'm confused, did I just get younger at 0300 or is time really catching up?

  • +1

Putting the clock back one hour… Amateurs!

  • +2

Don't fall for this false act of good will!

It is not a 'free hour' it is simply the hour that was stolen from us on a previous date in October! D:

  • +4

This is stupid. I buy this every year and then there is a mandatory product recall. Should we trust the manufacturer that we can keep the hour this time?

  • +1

    This joke never gets old..

  • +1

Is this +GST Or exempt!? Also, does capital gains apply in the longer term…

  • Is it still free if you paid an hour for it 6 months ago? Seems to me like you should see some interest returned on that.

  • Good find op!

  • Thanks OP! Got myself three :)

  • I bought three, but have not yet received them. Put in a PayPal Dispute
