I just received an email from Accor Hotels, notifying me of an Exclusive Sale. I am a member of Accor Hotels, and so I assume that membership is a prerequisite.
Book before 17 April 2014 to take advantage of our exclusive worldwide sale and enjoy up to 50% off your next holiday! Dates of Stays vary depending on your destination.
Offiers include 40% off, 50% off, or 2 nights for the price of one.
EG. Ibis Bangkok Nana in August is $A33 per night including taxes and service charges. Which is pretty good.
Also, on the links, it says 'Accor Advantage Plus members enjoy 10% off. This would be on top, I assume.

Would you like your complimentary breakfast pre-chewed for you as well?

  • I find with a lot of these Hotel emails stating "exclusive specials to members" are usually the same specials that anyone can get and the same prices that can be found on other sites like Wotif, Booking etc etc

  • I find these Accor deals are getting worse as they are being monthly events. it appears they have created a new rate as 'Early Bird' or 'Special Rate' as what was the normal rate before and then increased the rack rate. But these deals are taken off the rack rate, not lowest other rate.
The one i am looking at is rack rate of $449, early bird of $363 and 40% off rate of $270. So the actual saving off a price i could have got yesterday before this deal started is actually 25% not 40%.

    • Umm! Not sure…but maybe the discount is on the base price, and the taxes and service charges are added on later and not discounted. The best 'Real' sale price in the last couple of years for Ibis Bangkok Nana has been $28 inclusive. And so $A33 is not too bad. Dunno about other hotels.

    • Agreed. I go to Melbourne each year in August for 2 weeks approx. To me the last genuine sale prices were a couple of years ago and I was able to stay somewhere really nice for a good price. Since then, the 40% off sales have prices so high that I cant justify spending that kind of money for 2 weeks — the 40% off tag isn' t coming up for the hotels I usually check so I cant even really tell if they are part of the sale. Two years ago a call to their reservation centre got me an even better deal ; last time I called them, they implied take our ridicuously high price or leave it.

Edit: it appears that at least for some hotels the advanced booking rate is cheaper than the 40% off sale ( for August). Also, the price of an upgraded suite at one hotel in comparison to when I stayed there a couple of years ago is approx $120 per night more expensive this time round even with the 40% off.

  • The link not working properly, is it me or it happens to other as well?
