  • I currently have a lamp that uses an 11W 550LM bulb. How bright will this be in comparison?

    • +3

A lot duller, more like a semi-bright night light.

I'm going to get one for my 1yo's room.

I received all the bulbs from the previous order today, I'll test them out later too.

EDIT: Ordered 2, for this price including remote you can't go wrong.

    • 1/4 to 1/3rd as bright.

  • +15

I wanted to make an apology to the rep.

In the previous deal (discount 99c led bulbs) I suggested not to expect much for the price, which came off sounding ruder than I intended.

Well I've since tested all 10 bulbs and I'm quite impressed, considerably brighter than expected. I won't hesitate to buy in the future.

Please keep the OzBargain deals coming! :)

Thx Click_It unsderstanding very much , and hope everything goes well

  • Still no B22 again?

    • +3

will be posting a deal about B22 soon

  • +2

Would be great if some of the many LED resellers could offer a decent 50w replacement to the Ozb community. All the bargains always seem to be on the dim/less popular product lines.

Best I can find is around $22-23 for a MR16 halogen replacement of reasonable quality and brightness.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nichia-8W-12V-MR16-GU5-3-Dimmable…

Can you match or better myled?

    • I replaced all my halogens with those Nichia's. They are really good MR16 replacements that work great with most transformers and don't interfere with my TV reception.
They are not as bright as brand new 50W halogen, but were definitely brighter than my old (5 -10 years) halogens. Also much brighter than the ones my in-laws got through one of those VIC Energy Saving schemes.
      Good bang for buck.

This one still not a big deal,
you can find it on ebay maybe for a dollar more or so!?
but a dollar is a dollar!
Thanks OP looking forward to better deals from you

  • Not being too bright is great for that mood lighting

    Quality Assurance: 35000 Hours
    Warranty: 2 Years

Quality is assured for 4 years, but the warranty is only for 2 years ???

    • Time travel?

    • it's called Einstein special relativity… relative to you it lasts 2 years but relative to the light its 4 years ;)

      • Four years relative to the light is forever, literally.

  • +4

Has anyone opened one of these up to check on the mains wiring, especially checking that the case is NOT connected to ACTIVE?

    (Or something equally dangerous)

  • Ordered 2. Let's see what it looks like when it arrives…

    • Thx ptsordos

  • Ordered 2. Will see what they're like in 10-20 business days.

    • Thx skegger

  • ahh sod it.. just ordered 4.. I have some projects in mind which these will be nice to tinker with. Thanks OP

    • Thx gizmomelb

      • hmm.. just following this up as I haven't received the 4 LEDs I ordered as yet.

I've forgotten my password and I'm waiting on the web site to email me a new password, then I will check to see if there is any tracking details for my order.

  • Just gave the site a whirl. Not bad, paypal checkout and everything. Now to wait to check the quality of the LEDs.

  • Ordered 1, thanks OP.

    • THX whitenite

  • I ordered 4 last night.

Have also just increased my house and contents insurance, so it should be OK LOL

    • THX llama

  • Would be great if someone could actually explain what this actually does? There is no descriptive product information on the rep's website. Can't buy if I don't know what it does!?

I get that the remote somehow controls the light, but it has like 20 buttons, what the heck do they all do? Are they for different "zones" around the house or something? Can you control more than one globe per remote? How does it work? Is the idea that you replace all the lights in a room and then they all magically sync up to a single remote?

    • Rep can you tell us briefly what this system does? Features/benefits?

      • You just need to turn on remote , then press red , green ,blue button as you want .The bulb will give out light with different colors

  • By the way I'm seeing USD$6.56 per bulb, not $3.49 as the OP posted in the title. Has the deal already expired? Am I reading it incorrectly?

    • Oh, I just saw the voucher/discount code, I'm assuming that get you the cheaper price.

      • yes , pls use the code to get the good price

  • Dear OP

Waiting for this model in E 14 fitting

  • I need the B22 fitting :(

    • i will pm you B22 link , see which one you guy will like

      • Haven't got PM yet :(

        • yes, i am waiting as well !

    • here is B22 new deal for you :https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140581
      thx

  • Sorry for a noob question, but will it fit in a standard bulb screw fitting or we need smaller thread holder?

    • Google E27. It is the most standard screw type light fitting.

Thanks OP, ordered 3 for the pendant lights in the kitchen. I was thinking of getting the Yeelight pack from Kogan but at this price, could't resist the Ozbargain!

      • Thx for explaining to gaggy and your support

      • Thanks. I hope the answer is Yes. It is the standard bulb fitting.

        • The answer is Yes, the standard size screw in :)

        • That is better :). Was at work and wanted a quick answer before buying.

  • Ordered 8 to use with my fish tank light

    • nice to see that Michaelz101

Genuine question and no disrespect intended to the product offered.

I don't want to expose my family to ANY heightened risk of electrocution or fire.

Is there a similar product that has, for example, a CE certification or whatever the equivalent is for lights that ensures the above?

Edit: Suppose I should Google it, sorry.

  • ordered 2 thanks Myled :)

    • Thx mducpham

  • I have purchased a lot of the LED lights advertised on Ebay (All chinese in origin) and over a period of time one by one they have failed either by developing a flicker or just going out, so just beware of the origin of these LED's

  • No SSL, and partial SSL on the PayPal page, seriously guys?

    • Could be worse, could be using OpenSSL.

  • Voltage: AC100-220V

In Australia we have 230V, so will this be OK?

  • Hi MyLed,
Have you got any $0.99 3W B22 offer like the previous: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/137190

    • Rep do you have any globes that are good for outdoor spotlights?

  • just ordered 8, hope they are good

  • Has anyone received their bulbs?

    • Still waiting. How can it take so long do they take turtle mail

      • Still waiting also…

    • nothing received yet.. has been 29 days since I placed my order.

  • Still waiting here.. hopefully soon!

  • +1

I am still waiting on my order, going to attempt to contact them today.

    • Let us know how you go, still waiting here too.

  • +1

Still waiting for the order. I've submitted an inquiry, let's see what they reply.

    • keep us posted! Also interested

    • Any reply?

      • I received the following few days ago as their reply (Well, it was in my spam. I just saw it today):

Your order has been shipped out on 21st Apr via super saver shipping which does not have a tracking number to provide, and it is noted that the super saver shipping needs a 10-20 WORKING DAYS usually (sometimes can up to 30-40 natural days).

Also please understand that there will be certain kind of inevitable delays on the shipping / delivery anyhow.
Would you please kindly wait some more days to see if you can get the package?

So, I'm still waiting. Let's see if it pops up in my letter box in next few days.

        • +1

I wish there were that many weekends in a week!

        • LOL
Maybe they have 2 days off for every 1 on in chinasweden or wherever they are tomorrow.

          30-40 natural days.

I'm guessing that means days when it doesnt rain or have wind…

  • hoho! 4x LED globes arrived today.. I looked at the parcel on my doorstep thinking WTF is that? Then was surprised as soon as I opened the parcel.

Do any of them work? I have no idea yet, I don't have any edison screw sockets - I bought them for some friend's kid lamps etc. so will hopefully get to test them soon.

  • +4

My 4 arrived today - return address was SWEDEN

    Lamps are un-marked.

I've tested one of them. They only hold mode memory if the mains is left switched on - otherwise mine starts in a random colours mode.

There is one RGB LED in the centre. The reflector (actually a refractive lens)is mostly for show, and there is a pretty bad dead spot in the centre of some colours.

There's no "mixing" - you can can choose Red, Green, Blue or a whiute which looks like shit. The lower buttons give some mixes to produce different hues. But you cannot make your own blended colours.

On-Off works, Dimmer is actually just 4 or 5 steps in brightness. The remaining 4 buttons on the right control some auto colour cycling options. They say "flash" and "strobe, " and "fade" and "Smooth" but they are just variations on the theme.

I am disappointed that there was no user-controlled mixing. But for a decorative item at say a dance or holiday season, they are quite cool.

Unlikely it's a 3W LED… probably under 1W I'd say (but hard to tell due to being RGB).

    OPENED IT…

It's a worry that the silver section at the front is definitely metal. It's got thermal paste between the LED and a cast section of the heatsink, so they have attempted to keep the chip cool.

In the white base is a very simple step-down transformer, probably a rectifier and a few capacitors. This is on a PCB that is wrapped in cellophane for insulation. From there 2 x low voltage cables + a Ground cable run up through holes to a second PCB inside the silver head. That 2nd PCB has the LED driver chip and IR for the remote.

Safety-wise there is NO WAY this would pass any international standard. There is no isolation whatsover between the 240V side and the low voltage side. What that means is that if there is a failure on the mains PCB, then the wires to the second PCB could become live. The cabels are not rates high enough for that, and there is zero insulation between the low voltage PCB and the metal heatsink that forms the front of the unit.

Also, the mains PCB is wrapped in cellophane and there is no insulation at either end. The lower end in down inside the E27 cap, but the upper edge of the PCB could actually contact the metal heatsink which in turn can be touched by users.

In order to be legal, this would need to be double-insulated and extra because of the exposed metal… or have an earth (which is impossible). This doesn't even have ONE (effective) layer of insulation between the mains and the metal.

So, there is insufficient Creepage and Clearance on the mains, and insufficient insulation. In the event of (say) a capacitor failure, mains power could be applied to the low voltage side of things which then contacts the metal housing.

In certification terms… this would be classified as a "death trap".

However the quality is good. Nicely manufactured, quality assembly, nice finishes.

Summary - almost criminally dangerous, and certainly not legal to offer for sale into any civilised country.

    • Great review!! Thanks mate!

      • I'll be sure not to buy this crap again..
Either it doesnt turn up, or has potential to kill..

    • +1

  • Still nothing for me. Won't be buying from these guys again.

  • Nothing yet.. wow

  • not received ?? get refund now before these thief's disappear

    • Bad thing is mate these twits can keep posting here on ozbargain.
Its every person that doesnt make the paypal day limit on opening disputes that keeps them in business, and the 2/10 that receive something after 40+ days that keeps people buying!
I will neg every deal they have in future for this reason.

      • I sent through a Paypal dispute.

        Let's see what happens.

        • Esculate it to a claim or you wont see a cent.
I esculated mine on the 40th day and still no response from the rep here, or the PP duspute and or claim!
In past disputes they wait the 30 days for PP to make a decision as they are to F@&$ing lazy to bother, because they are scum

        • +1

Thanks for the advice mate. If nothing happens tonight I will be doing that tomorrow morning.

  • Opened PayPal dispute,

Ordered on 9th April, still nothing.. really way to long to be waiting over a month

    • Got a response from paypal!

      Quote:
I will refund you the order amount. Since the paypal refund is done via our financial dept., usually it shall be issued within 3-5 working days.

and incase you can get the package later…after the refunding, could you be nice to send us the payment back?

      thanks :)

      Got my money back

  • Is it safe to assume no one else here has received anything? I put through my Paypal claim and am getting a refund. Sick of waiting, this company is run by crooks.

    • Got my refund, didnt get any of my 3 orders..
Yeah myled are run by crooks
