$782.10 for the HTC One m8 after applying this code. I'm sure some would be interested in that.

    • They have already dropped it to $499.

      • he meant price match DSE price with the code

      • But with the 10% code, it is $449.10. So still valid in my opinion.

      • They have already dropped it to $499.

So, they will not price beat because DS's $449.10 price results from a 10% Off Sale?

        EDIT:
        http://www.officeworks.com.au/information/policies/lowest-pr…
According to their Terms, they should price beat.

        • "•Cash back and coupon offers" are excluded as per their LPG policies.

        • "•Cash back and coupon offers" are excluded as per their LPG policies.

Yes, I read that before posting my edit.

This is not a "cash back" nor a "coupon offer". So, hopefully should be covered by the OfficeWork Price Beat.

Interesting to see what they say but the Extra10 or whatever is something I would call a coupon code. However, it does all come down to semantics and how they define "coupon".

Officeworks in Prospect, SA honoured the match.

        • Officeworks in Prospect, SA honoured the match.

Do you mean the Price Match Less 5% ?

          If so, Good One!

        • Yeah, I got it last time Dicksmith had a 10% sitewide sale. Came to $422~

    • Dont they have 10% price beat ?

      • I thought that was only back to school offer?

        • I thought its still running :D

        • I thought its (sic) still running

No. Finished end of March I believe.

Yea! I suggest buying a 64GB MicroSD as extra storage. Also suggest you make a Recovery Disk on a USB 'stick' or MicroSD Card (I used an 16GB, but an 8GB might work), then delete the Recovery 'partition' from the T100. This reclaims 8GB of 'space'.

      • thanks

        • thanks

Also, and this may not be 'right' for you', I intend to be carrying the T100 around quite a bit. So, I removed the metal weight from the keyboard.

This lightens the T100/keyboard combo quite a bit. However, as a consequence, it will now tip backwards if opened to the full extent possible. This does not bother me, as if I need it to be fully opened I can support the screen with one hand or even an object.

        • suppose this was made just for you then

          Kinda fugly though.

Seriously 'though' what's with the random 'inverted' commas?

  • Please post receipt for others.

Quick, go and black out some details.

  • going overseas soon, so this further take off another 42 dollars

    • its $38.78 you can check it in the receipt, its not exactly %10 of the total price. its the 10% before the tax added or around 9% of the total price

    • going overseas soon, so this further take off another 42 ($38.78) dollars

Isn't there some minimum purchase per shop for a GST refund?

      • the minimum is $300

        The key changes are:
Travellers can claim through the tourist refund scheme on purchases made up to 60 days before leaving Australia (under old regulations they had 30 days). This will apply to sales made on or after 17 April 2013.
Travellers can submit more than one tax invoice to make their claim, as long as each is a valid tax invoice from the one Australian Business Number retailer and the total value of goods purchased is $300 or more (including GST).

  • I brought this computer in the last dse promotion and I have mixed feelings. Whilst its very portable, I still cannot handle the keyboard and trackpad. I also do not like the screen glare when outside, its unbearable. The sound is excellent for my needs and the included office is good to use even though its a scaled down version for tablet pcs. My friend also recently purchased one and his screen was dead on arrival which sucked.

      I got it for $398.

I don't mind the keyboard, no problem so far.

I agree about the TrackPad. I added a BlueTooth Mouse that I had around.

The screen 'glare' I also agree on, but I am not using it in the outdoors. It also get really dirty/smeared if used as a touchscreen. Needs a coating like the iPhones have. I try to always use a stylus pen, I got for free from the last Consumer Electronics Show, when using it as a tablet.

I thought it was a full copy of Office 2013 "Home and Student"?

      • Wouldn't the touch screen more convenient than the trackpad?

        • Wouldn't the touch screen (be) more convenient than the trackpad?

Some times yes - but the mouse is better than the touchpad - and of course, when using as a tablet, on must use the touch-screen. Hence the stylus pen.

      • +2

Yes, it is the full copy of Office 2013 Home and Student

    • +1

I was also under the impression is was the full office 2013 home and student (still have not installed it so can't confirm).

I got long skinny fingers so the keyboard doesn't bother me too much, beats bashing on the screen and leaps and bounds over the touch cover for the surface (if that is a fair comparison, haven't used the other cover before so can't compare).

Trackpads, I hate all trackpads to begin with kinda bias however I manage with this one as I combine poking at the screen and the trackpad however the windows 8 keyboard popup does get on my nerves. You can disable the onscreen keyboard altogether though which I have yet to do. The trackpad button is almost impossible to use, way too stiff and loud, but you don't have to use it too often as often you can get away with 2 finger tap, tap hold etc.

Screen, I've never used it outside but can imagine it being terrible due to the lack of brightness (think it was rated at 250?)

All in all I would still buy it again and most probably update to a newer model in a couple generations time if they're still releasing it.

  • Went to 2 officeworks stores and both managers would not price beat $449 by 5% arguing it was a one off promo code not a 'sale'. I even showed the receipt above for Auburn OW store and both mgrs said it was applied incorrectly. Inconsistent store policies!!

  • Mentone Officeworks would only honour $449 as a compromise.

  • T100 will come down in price around EOFYS as there has been T200 model announced recently.

  • +1

Thanks OP finally bought one (after many attempts but failed to PM deals @OW for the past few months). Dont remember how much I have already spent on deals OP posted but those are definitely great deals.

  • +2

No deal unless it's below $400. Might wait for Shopping Express new deal later now.

    • +2

Same here. If the T100 drops to around sub $370 I might get one over the HP Omni 10.

      • +2

By that time there will have a new model T200.

  • So how would this go for playing games? I'm sick of having to use a desktop and don't see much value in a proper laptop anymore. So for playing WOW or Diablo etc how would this go? Or do I just need to stick to a surface pro 2?

(I'm not going to be playing top of the line shooters, just blizzard and indie games I'd say)

  • +1

Surface pro 2 for games, this one struggles with asphalt airborne. Unless u dont mind dialing the graphics all the way down.

Diablo doesnt run too well on it but it works.

    http://www.transformerforums.com/forum/asus-transformer-book…

Videos of games running on the t100. If u really want something cheap wait till may when the new atom comes, meant to improvement in the graphics department then decide from there

    • Thanks headed overseas mid year so will wait till I'm under 60 days out. Hopefully I can find one then…they still seem to be in generally short supply.
