Good policy for expensive computers and cameras. I think it Covers single items valued up to $3,000. (most other insurers cap single items at $1000).

  • Cheers grasstown. Perfect timing for a friend's OS trip!

  • ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good deal

  • Any idea how these guys compare with travel insurance direct?

    • TID has a more descriptive exclusion list. If you do certain one day adrenaline activities, TID specifically excludes them while woolworths hadn't.

  • -6

Rubbish TID better…longer away and better specs

    • +6

Please enlighten us to the 'better specs'. Is this just your personal opinion? Not a very good reason to neg the deal I would have thought.

    • Annual multi-trip policy is better TID….less time allowed away 30vs38 days I think you will find.
      Car insurance is better TID

  • It looks like with the discount the prices are similar to TID, however some of the values for covered events/expenses are higher for one or the other. Personally, the unlimited medical vs $12k when traveling to the "US and A" (Borat accent) makes the Woolies one the winner for my travel plans. Their medical costs are just plain scary.

    • TID and Woolies have both come up as unlimited medical on my quotes for 10 days in the USA.

      • I just did again and got the same, unlimited. Maybe I was reading something else. The difference is $187 v $211 for 14 days in the USA, so with 10% off it would be $2 dearer for Woolies.

  • "EDRTRAVEL" still works for 10% off

TID has also updated their coverage of laptops/cameras to $4000 per item.
Use code: "TripwiseG" from previous posts for 12%? discount

    • That's fine. This deal is also for persons with dependants included free and persons doing activities that are exclusions on TID.

      • Aren't Children and Dependants free* on both companies?

Exclusions are definitely something to check out (along with the other million T&Cs)

I've used both, Woolies last year, although I haven't claimed with them. TID I claimed a dropped camera back in 1999 and had no problem, not sure if they have tightened up their claims on accidental damage (I only needed a repair quote).
