        I went down half a size (read that the sizes for those shoes run big) and it ended up working.

        Also had a Herschel wallet which it said the same thing for and wouldn't let me buy. When I switched the shoe sizes everything went through including the wallet. Very dodgy site.

          I got the same on a women's sweater. Stock was available both online and in store, and there was no mention of international shipping not being available until I went to confirm the order.

      What, are you sure? I bought a pair of Timberlands from UO back in Feb with no problems. I also had a pair sitting in my cart when I logged in today and it didn't say it couldn't be shipped to Australia.

          Yes it is. You can get 40% off the other 'half' of the products and get some great prices in comparison to local ones. That's like saying a store can't have a sale without putting every product in the store on sale too. It's annoying that you don't find out until checkout but there are still some great bargains to be had here.

    For anyone having issues with checking out items (aside from the possibility that it might be a brand that doesn't ship internationally, e.g. Vans, Levis, OBEY) customer service has advised that it's an item that is out of stock in the warehouse and is shipping directly from a store. Stores apparently can't ship internationally.

    I've never had this problem before so perhaps it's a new system with their inventory. Kinda sucks for us international customers though.

    I just spent so much money… What an amazing offer. I've probably paid at least $1000 less than I would have for the same items here in Australia. The free international shipping makes it really fantastic.

    If you put through a large order (>50 items) you may have some problems upon checkout. Had a problem viewing my order after submitting it, but customer service were really friendly, and confirmed that the order had indeed gone through.

        Follow-up: had to end up cancelling my ~$500 order after they refused to back down from their incorrect and risky order payment verification process. Urban Outfitters have a payment verification process that is non PCI-compliant (i.e. it goes against the payment card industry's standards, and more greatly exposes you to the possibility of employee fraud or email interception). They sent me a spammy looking email, saying that I needed to send them via email either the merchant authorisation code for the transaction (which I don't have, and cannot get apparently), or photos of an identity document along with my Visa card (w/ first 12 numbers blacked out).

        If your order gets 'flagged' in their system, just call up and cancel it. Seriously, a company this big shouldn't be having these sorts of PCI compliance issues. It exposes their customers to unnecessary risk, and it exposes Urban Outfitters to potentially hefty fines from Visa. You should never have to verify your identity with an online merchant as part of the payment process (unless, of course, the merchant is the issuing bank!). That's the job of your issuing bank. I'm considering whether or not it's worth letting Visa know via my bank that this is happening. It is likely that Urban Outfitters have an insecure, shared email inbox with images of the identity documents and cards of hundreds (if not thousands) of customers…

        tl;dr — If they require you to verify your order, just call up and cancel. The information they ask you to send to them as part of their payment verification process is unacceptable, and is not properly handled.

          Urban Outfitters is a very large and legitimate business. However, the way they go about payment processing online seems to be deeply flawed. If you order and you aren't asked to verify anything, you'll probably be sweet. If they do ask you to verify, just cancel the order over the phone.

      take review sites with a grain of salt. People are more inclined to whinge when they have something bad to say, but not say anything at all if they have a positive experience.

      I've ordered from them 4-5 times and items always shipped within 12 hours and great condition.
