  • Postage shows as $4.95 when checking out.

    • Thanks. Have modified post.

      • I still bought 2 x packs. Thanks as I was going to buy the "normal" ones from an Ebay seller but these tickle my fancy just that little bit more.

    • Free is only an estimate, and $5 is next to nothing apparently.

  • Aldi sell Low Self Discharge AA and AAA, $6.99 for a 4 pack -

I have some AAA's and they are working great, but it's only been 8 months.

    • There are plenty of brands of LSD battery that are cheaper, but Eneloops/Sanyo XX are considered to be the highest quality. That's why this is a bargain.

For non-critical applications I use Hobbyking's "Turnigy" brand of low-self-discharge batteries. After shipping from HK they are still cheaper than Aldi when purchasing lots of 20 or so.

      AAA: MD13625
      Rating: 850mAh

the ones from this deal do hold quite a bit more power tho being 950mah

im a huge fan of the hobbyking batteries which are 900mah lsd's for around a buck each. i have been using them for years for many charge cycles and they still test up over there rated capacity (somewhere around 920mah iirc)

Eneloops/Sanyo XX are considered to be one of the the highest quality.

      fixed that up for you.

I ordered 32 of the hobbyking turnigy brand batteries today. LSD will be awesome for what I want to use these for. Thanks for the heads up!

        • Thanks for the heads up!

          glad you found it helpful

do you have a good charger as well? i used to use a crappy smart charger but it still used to stuff up my batterys after a year or 2, i bought a maha charger when i bought my turnigys a few years back and its kept my batteries still as good as new.

        • How did you manage to buy them. It has backorder for me. Doh.

        • my original link was from there australian warehouse, looks like they are in stock in the china warehouse http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25024__Turnigy_AA…

but yea these always sell out fast. they must go through trillions of them

in case you didnt realise, they do both 900mah AAA and 2400mah AA's

      • Maybe I just can't english today but - are these rechargeable? The description doesn't really say.

Any tips for LSD rechargable D cells?

          seems so :D

Low self discharge AAA NiMH battery

          NiMH = rechargeable

Any tips for LSD rechargable D cells?

you can get many various types of these but i tried them once and the (-) spring in the maglite i was trying them in didnt work/contact with them and i ended up throwing it all away and just going with the cheep cree torches on here.

the other issue with larger than AA cells is that most good chargers cant charge the bigger cells so choose wisely :)

          hth

        • hehehe :-) thanks for that!
they're for the 3D maglites from COTD so I'm after the added heftiness from Ds. I did consider the adapter at one point though as, like most OzB'ers, I'm swimming in eneloops.

  • This is lower than all prices on staticice and shopbot. Bargain!

Amazon won't ship this product to Australia, in case anyone is wondering.

  • XX eneloop:
    * higher capacity per cell (regular AAA eneloop has 800mah per cell)
    * less than a third of the claimed charge cycles compared to white-jacket eneloops (500 versus 1800)
    * roughly double the cost of white-jacket eneloop

XX eneloop has never been a compelling product to me. I'd much rather buy twice the amount of regular eneloops.

    • You dont make sense, these are on special ($17) the regulars are $26

      • +1

        You dont make sense

i think they ment for the small gain in mah (800 v 950) you get with these versus the much much shorter life span (1800 v 500 cycles) the normal ones are a better option, regardless of the cost

        • The 'best' depends on application, hence the reason they market both.

      • You dont make sense, these are on special ($17) the regulars are $26

I'm seeing 15.99 USD for an 8 pack of AAA (white jacket enleoop) on amazon.com. Of course Amazon will add a few dollars for delivery (as will Dick), but it's very cost effective if already buying something from there rather than just buying them alone.

So that's double the amount of batteries for around the same cost as four AAA xx eneloops here. You'd have to really want the extra capacity per cell (and not mind the reduced life expectancy) to buy the XX eneloop batteries, in my opinion. I can't think of many (or any) applications in my personal usage that would need that while living with all the drawbacks of these cells.

Good deal for local stock OP!

For those like me who don't mind waiting a few weeks I recently found these guys on eBay selling them a bit cheaper with Free Postage:

    4 x AAA for $15.51: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301008965317?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…
    4 x AA for $21.04: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291010118704?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…

    • Have you gotten some AAA from them yet? Seem to be genuine?

      • Nope, they haven't yet arrived and as these are my first XXs from this seller I can't confirm if they're genuine. Will try to remember to update this once they arrive and once I've put them through a few charges etc.

    • For AAAs thats a bargain.

    • +1

keep in mind ebay vendors sell a lot of fake eneloops (and IMO, none of these prices are a bargain compared to the white jacket versions which can be found on amazon and elsewhere and added to your order cheaply).

  • Damn….I've gotten onto the Eneloop bandwagon too late :(
Will await the next AAA deal.
