Yea.and it's not made easy cause the lid is so rounded.
The cylindrical breville that goes for around $100 to $120 and has a glass lid is much better and doesnt have this problem.
well yea but you're talking about 3 times the price tho (still maybe 2 times with the normal price)
Another workaround is to fill the kettle up via the spout instead of removing the lid
the problem with that is you're flushing the crap from the filter back down to the kettle….(or maybe I'm just being a bit of hygiene freak…lol)
I ask my girlfriend to close it!
Ours started corroding around the lid and then stuck shut. I like Breville, but this is a bad design.

I can attest to this, they are indeed loud. Good for drowning out boring conversations.. thought of changing to the all glass ones but but the blue LED is cooool.. ;P
I had this kettle. It has a major design flaw. If you need to boil water twice eg for cooking, the lid will burn your hand because it's all metal.
