  • Its not Australian stock given it comes with a US power supply.

  • Not sure if it's Aus stock but says one year warranty.

How can you not be sure if they are Australian stock? It states up to a month for delivery.

If you actually meant that you can't be sure if they are an Australian Market model. Groupon state that they come with a USA power supply/charger. So, they would be most likely USA Market stock.

I can't find any details of any warranty, one year or otherwise. However, Apple Australia may honour the warranty as these are not the 'cellular' model. If they do, it will only be for one year, and I don't know about their support for out of warranty replacements in this case.

Groupon as an Australian company would have to honour the warranty - perhaps for even more than a year if that's considered reasonable under the new(ish) Act.

What makes you believe that Groupon are the seller/supplier?

        • Point of sale and manufacturer ( or in this case importer) must supply with statutory warranty. Group on can't get out of this one unless they go bankrupt.

Since they have a .com.au address they must be a legal Australian entity

Tell that to eBay, and to Kogan Australia Pty. Ltd (trading also via a dot com dot au as their HK company - KOGAN HK Pty. Ltd.).

In this case one is buying from some unknown seller/supplier, and I am sure (as in the past) GROUPON will not divulge just who is the seller/supplier.

A month to deliver? Just who do you think is the importer?

I believe that the importer will be the purchaser. The buyer of this iPad will be deemed to be the importer.

Not true. What about KOGAN HK Pty Ltd selling via Kogan.com.au - What about the many Hong Kong sellers selling via .com.au domains gained by use of a HK trademark.

  • neutral to this, but who wants ipad mini nowadays? the resolution is too poor for eyes. Cheapo should opt for nexus 7 2.

    • +4

My kids don't care about resolution. Unfortunately, not all kids games are available on Android so a non-retina iPad mini is fine for them.

      • +2

Even some adults do not really care about the retina resolution…I would prioritize on other things

        cool buy your idea. :)

        Kids, kids, kids…

but it would be a joy if they go outside and play!!!

If you were not looking specifically for 32GB then Dick Smith are selling the 16GB version for $296 this weekend. Australian stock. Australian warranty.

One of my friends managed to get OW to price beat it to $281.20 yesterday too so give that a shot :)

      • I did too. You can only price match on the space grey at the moment because the white one is now the same price. It seems like OW are changing prices to clear out certain models.

I've the first gen iPad Mini 16GB for over a year now and I'm still using it a lot. For those on the fence, you won't be disappointed with the Mini even if the resolution is lower than the latest tablets.

Yup. We have the same, but with the additional Cellular access. Only problem is that 16GB is seeming a bit 'small' now. Paid $300 brand new and sealed, but from a pawn shop. Friend purchased a 64GB with cellular from same shop about 6 months ago, as new with leather cover, for $450. I suggest checking pawn shops, eBay, and Gumtree, before paying $400 for this USA 32GB model via Groupon.

    • You comparing an aldi tablet with poor screen resolution to an iPad mini?

      Right…

      • Ummm, the screen resolution on the two devices are the same arent they?
Too many other differences though to compare the two.

      • That's right they are the same, did u even read the specs?

    • u neg and only give this link? u cant compare apples with strawberries, they are 2 different things~ if it was android vs android then sure but i think ur neg is not valid ~

      • hey this is my opinion for what is worth paying anything over $200. apple is a great product but for the specs they give out with such a ridiculous price dual core processor at $399 cmon i'd rather pay for this http://www.binglee.com.au/samsung-gt-n5120zwaxsa-galaxy-note… and getting $50 cash back. the specs kills this ipad mini and its abilities to function. Don't hate but comparing Android and apple is exactly where the bargain is.
