just cause this is on catch of the day doesnt instatlly make it a bargain. I saw this but nothing special.

come up with a few examples of savings to make it a bargain.

I agree with this. While COTD have had many a bargain in the past, I find the accessories offered today nothing special. What is the bargain here? Free shipping?

    • Second this.

I was going to suggest people not to post about our events, but instead to post about individual specific bargains they find attractive.

BUT - I'm not sure if that would reduce or increase spam, with people posting multiple links to very similar items/deals.

Instead I think that its better to keep this all in one post, but there should be a few examples of specific good deals cited in the head post.

For example, I think the STM backpack is a good buy at $39 delivered.

      • Why is your company SO SLOW to dispatch items which have been paid for?

  • just bought $50 worth of goods, I hope their quality is as good as the ones seen in the apple stores… XD

Do you really think there going to be just as good? Let me know maybe in a few weeks after they decide to dispatch you your goods.

"just cause this is on catch of the day doesnt instatlly make it a bargain", if it IS from COTD then its most likely NOT a bargain but something the anglers are trying to flog off where as the real catch is sold somewhere else. In fact COTD is so slow most times that what is fresh when caught is stale by the time its delivered (yes I know they don't sell perishable food).
Having things delivered weeks after paying for them is hardly satisfying the excitement that someone may have when they order, it just leaves a sour taste in ones mouth so the person decides not to go back there for more nourishment.

    Pick up your act COTD.

  • You're kidding, right? STM neoprene covers retail at $49.95, but this COTD has them listed at $14.95… DLO Jam Jackets are usually $29.95, but COTD lists them at $9.95, STM backpacks retail at $89.95 but listed on COTD at $39.00 - all with free shipping! You guys are a hard crowd to please :(

I'm easy to please, COTD are just so slow to dispatch. Any excitment of buying is lost in the waiting time.

OzJeepGrl I am glad you found something at COTD that's a bargain :)

      • Agreed - 7 to 10 business days is a decent wait. Can't complain though if it's free. The earlier comments inferred that the COTD offers today weren't bargains.

        • As a there business IS being a mail order business then they should be set up to handle dispatching things quickly.
As they claim to be cheap then that's what they should be.
As their logo states "one product every 24 hours" then we all know thats a lie as they normally sell more then one thing (aka small fish/catch), today its not even small fry, just multiple items based around a theme.
COTD to me is disappointing as they have been so slow that I had to CANCEL my last order as it was taking weeks, they even asked me why I wanted to cancel it (before they would accept my cancellation, they already had my money weeks earlier), AS IT WAS SO SLOW FOR THEM TO DISPTACH IT, I replied.

Yes I understand that you can see a baragain there. BTW who pays retail for most items? Its just a place to negotiate (yes to hard to do with a current magazine's price say at a newsagent), to me the RRP on many products is just a price that's used to say how cheap they are even though it was never sold at that price.

        • totally agree with you ozjeepgrl - ozbargainers can be a rough bunch.

but yes, these are great bargains… speck and dlo products for 9.95 shipped is great value indeed (given that most products at the apple store are 35-45).

Believe me, the quality of these products is excellent. I own a videoshell for my ipod touch and it is a FANTASTIC case. the sliding stand (which folds into the case) for viewing videos, etc is a really clever design!

STM backpack for 39 is also a very good price.

I've bought from Catch of the Day once before (in that case it was a Speck PixelSkin case for iPhone 3G, which is also listed in these bargains) - and they're very good cases. Just because a case retails for 40 bucks doesn't mean its worth the 40 (good example are the DLO cases seen today - they all suck, I speak from personal experience). But the PixelSkin is actually a very good case, and while expensive at 40 dollars, at ten its a steal.

They took two days to get to me which I found nice (considering i live nearby their dispatch area), but only shopped with them once.

  • Hey I just seen that this is your first post (and that obviously your the poster), good on ya :) Keep them coming.

I haven't voted either way as I don't need or want the items, but my comments were more about how BAD COTD is.
I live in suburbia not woop woop.

Its NOT Australia Post that is slow as my purchases from Amazon UK and DealExtreme Hong Kong arrive quickly (nearly always quicker then from COTD).

    • Thanks Zero. I've been lurking here for a while and check in on COTD most days (and agree that not every day is there something worth getting excited about!). If I stumble across anything else of interest, I'll be sure to submit it here. Love love love OzBargain :)

  • Does anyone know if the the 3gs is the same identical size as the 3G?

Most of the cases products information state that they are only suitable for the 3G

    • I have both phones here and they are exactly the same size. (8GB Vs 32GB)

    • as ross said, exact same

  • Great prices, i'll definately be ordering a new speck iphone case.

Even if it takes a few weeks as mentioned by zero, i'm not in a hurry. For $9.95 you can't go wrong.

    • Some people do seem to get there stuff quicker then I do, lets hope your one of them :)

There systems are so good I've got emails stating a item has been dispatched when I've had it delivered alrrady! Like I said before COTD need to get their business act together.

lol that sound's like a great system. Oh well buying something for 10 bucks that worth 5 times that price is worth waiting a few weeks for. Of course, as long as you don't need it in a hurry.

  • i've always received ALL my items a week or two after I've ordered it.. no dramas at all, forgot to mention im actually in WA so it usually takes donkey years for anything to get here but not COTD..

    • I'd consider "a week or two" to be donkey years.

  • I've ordered from COTD twice in the past. And on both occasions, I've received my items in less than a week. Hopefully this one will be the same.
